Our Jackson alone outscored 2/4 striker duo's from our rivals.

Jackson when compared to those players while they were or are in the first season:

Nketiah first season - 2 goals.  ✔️
G.Jesus first season - 7 goals. (While playing 10 matches but he was in Man City and not Arsenal)  ✔️

Gakpo first season - 7 goals.  ✔️
Nunez first season - 9 goals.

Martial first season - 11 goals. 
Hojlund first season - So far 0 goals.  ✔️

Son first season - 4 goals.  ✔️
Richarlison first season - 5 goals.  ✔️

Our Jackson already outscored 4 and is already equal to 2 players when compared just by the first season, only Martial and Nunez had more goals than him for their first PL season.

Nkunku during his first 30 minutes of the PL experience had 3 shots on target and scored once, Jackson is taking far too many touches and is playing nonchalantly so he clearly has an attitude problem and he isn't that good but it's not like we spent crazy money for him either. Caicedo cost over 100m and he's not a difference maker nor has he been nearly influential enough. Jackson after all came into a team that had already massive attacking problems, our midfield before Caicedo and Enzo had Kante and Jorginho so the standard there is much higher.

Even though we haven’t had any luck with attackers something I have seen over the last 5 years is Chelsea strikers get so much more media attention compared to other big club strikers who have failed. 
It seems we are in a self defeating cycle fans get on the back of our strikers/attacking players media get their nails in and push the failed attackers narrative and nothing improves.

I get the feeling Halaand and Kane would fail here.

Pre season means as much as scoring 3 tap ins against 9 man spurs, f**k all.

Okey but my point is that he's not the only one that's sh*t, that guy Nunez cost double and he's playing with Salah and yet he also looked pretty clumsy during his first PL season.

That's all I'm saying, we have a younger striker that we signed and he's not a good player. So do other teams when you put us in the bigger context.

The club took a gamble on Jackson, I understood it. Hindsight is a bitch, at the time the club made the sensible move. 

Yeah - but Kane and Osimen do not need scouts to identify. Any 6 yr old playing fifa knows them.

I am not in the football industry, and do not have a network of scouts at my service, therefore am unable to answer your challenge on naming a striker. My previous point remains however. In a world of however many billion people, I do not believe that there is not a striker out there, who would not cost hundreds of millions, that could do a good job for us.

Not sure he has regressed. He looked ok against wrexham and half fit teams in pre season. He looked ok against 9 men at spurs - but he has never shown any genuine quality against fit, competitive teams.

He just doesn’t shoot enough for me.. can’t remember a single goal where he curled one, placed one or hit the top corner with power..

was through 1v1 after pinching the bowl and froze.. tried to take a touch when he should have put his laces though it .. passed to CG outside the box when he could have shot..

for a striker he just doesn’t strike the ball for some reason.. 

Probably watched too many Lukaku tutorials on ball control, some of the mis controls were ludicrous, maybe he got two left boots on, or wearing skating boots.

He has said before in interviews that he was not used to wearing boots. He grew up playing barefooted - and only started wearing boots 6 yrs ago. I striggle on skis for similar reasons....

That's just false. His ability to play from deep, link up play and dribbling was the very reason he was getting plaudits to begin with.

6 months in bloke can't control a ball now.

My problem is you make it sound like it's easy, other teams are struggling to find a 20 goal a season striker it's not just us. 

Jackson showed some promise, he was young, looked like he had potential and early in the season he looked like a solid product. Unfortunately he's quickly done a complete 180. 

Go watch Jackson against West Ham early in the season, he was probably our best player in that game. Didn't score but looked brilliant and caused them all sorts of problems, I would love that Jackson back.

For 30m that's what you get. De Bruyne and Salah didn't look much amazing either but you could see that both wanted to get there. Jackson has a long way but you can also see that he isn't lacking in spirit like Werner or Morata once did.

He's doing just as good as I expected him to numbers wise, but it's looking evident he isn't a ST.

More like a wide attacker.

KDB looked unreal before we signed him? He was smashing the Belgian League at 17 years old and was excellent at Bremen. Salah no doubt elevated his game at Roma but he was also very good at Basel. 

I see your point Gol, but those are not good comparisons.

I watched him play there and he looked a lot more comfortable... so, give him the ben and out, maybe confidence and position is why he looks so shyte.

If that video of Jackson's shots was freely available to Winstanley and Stewart then I'd be asking some serious questions if I was Clearlake ...

I've actually watched Jackson play and been impressed unusually he's been more impressive in games he hasn't scored in there were some real moments of quality linkup from him at the start of the season and in pre season and I'm hopeful we'll see them again now Nkunku is back to play behind him.

Look I'm not saying Jackson is the answer or a top talent just that I've seen enough from him to think he may potentially develop into a serviceable player for us.

And given the only other striker we have is a talentless donkey that wouldn't be near a premier league squad if he didn't come from our academy I don't see the alternative to backing Jackson until we bring in the striker we should have signed in the summer.

Well, let's not put the cart before the horse by demanding a player that scores X number of goals.

Over the past couple of seasons, we have struggled to make a consistently high number of chances - and we lacked a striker who could put them away, when the odd chance came around. That is not the case this season - where we have been pretty good when it comes to chance creation. That is progress in itself - but now we are lacking a player to do the fundamentals of forward play.

I am not saying it is easy to find a striker who can score 20 goals a season straight off the bat in any given team - but I do think that there is a player somewhere in the world - probably several of them, which our scouts should be able to find, that can:

a) control a ball

b) finish chances with some assuredness and not look a nervous wrech needing 20 extra touches 

c) read the game and stay onside d) not be a hinderence to our attack play

e) have some footballing intelligence

f) be able to show some control and not get booked for stupid behaviour game in game out

g) be able to show some self control off the pitch, and not do stupid things with only fans tarts

h) be able to pass a ball

I) be able to head a ball.

If we find a player that does the above, then with the number of chances being created, the goals will naturally follow.... It shouldnt need a superstar Kane, Osimen or Haaland to flourish here. The eyes dont lie, we are making chances. We just have a clueless strikeforce.
