Nicolas Jackson - striker

How many teams have 3 strikers? not many. If we are incredibly unlucky and have both Pedro and Delap out injured, then one of the the wingers can take their spot for the odd game or two.

If we don't sell him this season, then we won't get anywhere near the same amount next season because he will barely play.

Not just that, he will also kick up a fuss and possibly force a move. Now is the perfect time to sell him really.

As usual, you didn't read the post properly / you deliberately misinterpreted what I said. I don't want Jackson because he's a rubbish footballer, not because I don't like him as a person. I didn't really like Ashley Cole as a person when he played for us, but I loved him on the pitch because he was a brilliant footballer.

1 out of 2 should be okay for a 3rd choice striker.

Now go back and read my previous post and look what I said about Sterling. 26 goal contributions in 47 games in his last season at City, they sold him to us and he was rubbish.

These stats are a good sales pitch for those that don't watch football, but that is all they are. Sell him.

I really don't understand why some people still dont get it.... I cant comprehend why anyone would want him here after the last 7 months.

Is it short memories, or do they really not understand the game at all? I am not tactical genius like Bob - but I do watch Chelsea....makes me wonder if some on here actually watch the games!

Nah, we're always at Ikea with our insignificant other or at a inconsiderately planned family do. Who's this Nichael Jackson you keep banging on about anyway?

Jackson is a valuable member of our squad but if a significant offer comes in i guess we will just have to let him go. A pacy striker with double figures for goals in both of the last two seasons is gonna be tempting for some. A young developing player with plenty of Premier League experience. Newcastle would be wise to formalise the 65mill offer sooner rather than later or they could miss out.

Well, he has a little bit of pace, but it is certainly not electric. He isn't an Henry or Owen speed merchant that could leave defenders for dead over 10 yards.

For me personally, and I accept it's a perception from afar, but I don't believe he is particularly smart. Not just as a footballer, because I think that's pretty obvious. But as a person, I don't think there is a lot going on between the ears. I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe he will suddenly mature in his attitude, learn or improve. In fact if anything he just seems to double down on his mistakes, hence the sending offs and Palmer's anger when he didn't make that pass. I feel he is our very own version of Mario Ballotelli but without the occasional bit of skill and comedy training bib entertainment.

Another reason I desperately want to see him sold is because it's highly possible we already have another young striker with a potentially much, much higher ceiling in Guiu. He was desperately unlucky to get injured when he did. IMO he works harder than Jackson, is infinitely better in the air, (who isn't?), isn't frightened to get in a war with defenders, has a more natural strikers movement and anticipation. I would hate to see a third choice, mediocre Jackson as any kind of road-block to Guiu's progression.

Those meatballs are addictive....and the dime cake.

Jackson is not the first footballer to have issues. He was our main/ only striker, now hes not. He ups his game or we sell him - for a decent sum in accordance with market conditions. Dead simple really.

Okay. Why not. I read it... When you basically take out the output that Jackson produced you are left with external reasons. His face, his alleged attitude. His two red cards are bad we agree on that but neither ended up hurting us.

?? Ups his game, he's been here ages and just got worse.. When do you propose letting him play and upping his game.. We wouldn't have won the world cup with him playing, he drags the whole team down

I will be downvoted on this for sure and i'm not saying it will happen but.......

I would not be surprised in a year's time (if Jackson stays), that Pedro is great but doesn't score enough goals for us to start as the sole centre forward and Delap is a box prescence but too limited to create enough for our needs, and then we find Jackson is back to being the first choice striker.

It would not surprise me

If i was making a proposal it would be for him to make some improvements in training and with his general attitude during the week, i certainly wouldnt want to risk injury in valuable game time especially now barca have thrown their hat in the ring.

Why would anyone else want him though Jim ??

I think you are right, the club have indicated that we dont have to sell and i suspect they wish to keep him in reserve should we get injuries to Pedro and or Delap.

It s gonna take a decent offer..🙂

United have already brought a Cunha and Mbuemo

Now BBC are reporting they are after a Sesko or a Watkins apparently.

Manchester United make RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko their number one choice to come in as a new striker this summer.

Absolutely no interest in a Jackson at all.

Lots of speculation on here..

But do the club want to sell him, does he want to leave, and most importantly, is there anyone out there who wants to buy him ?

Answers to all the above are ..NO !!

I don't think United understand their job here. It's their duty to sign Jackson for £60m+

I could see Jackson staying with us and maybe going out on loan in the winter transfer window if he doesn't get enough games. Nknunku will be leaving and Marc Guiu will be going out on loan and Maresca always wanted more options up front.
