Villa won’t pay £60m when they have PSR issues.

If they pay £60m over 5 years, that would be £12m a year ...

Sell Rogers for £60-80m, and they are surely well ahead on PSR ... having only paid £8-15m for him (depending on which add-ons kick in) ?

Even more ahead if they also sell Watkins. Paid £28m for him in 20/21, and I doubt he has too much value left on their books ...

Who’s buying Rogers?

I think the problem Villa have is if they sell those players, how do they compete?

Jackson definitely ends up at Villa, Utd or Newcastle. There a long time to go in the window and as soon as Newcastle sign a striker things will begin to happen. Newcastle need two strikers at least so I’ve a feeling he’ll end up there now.

I was just reading Red Cafe, and the funny thing is that a lot of them are saying they would take him 😆

They say the biggest problem is his finishing.......if that is all it was, then there would be something with Jackson we can work on.

We could always sweeten the Jackson deal by offering them a loan of one out of Nkunku, KDH, Chukwuemeka or Kellyman, who could all play where Rogers plays ...

There are some interesting options but i think Maresca will want to retain the three striker options he currently has, especially with Guiu and Broja departing.

Atrractive offers and replacements are possible but i think Jackson will be with us when the transfer window closes. January seems more likely when teams are even more desperate to bolster their attack. Man Utd Villa and or Newcastle clinging to a hope of european football will be begging for a striker come January.

Nico Jackson has scored double figures goals in each of the last two seasons and has significant premier League experience, i doubt we will be selling ourselves short, why would we?

They're right tbf, teaching someone to score isn't that simple though

Except the biggest problem isn't his finishing. I accept his finishing is bad - but it is simply 1 bad thing, from a number of bad things.

The biggest problem is that he is rubbish at football.

The problem is should Pedro or Delap which the way they play will easily be done pick up an injury or suspension your back to only one option up top.

It might take a decent bid to tempt them. Still a few clubs searching.

We don't need a moody rant on socials type of 3rd choice striker. We need a Giroud

When it comes to finishing there are 2 major issues with Jackson.

  1. He started development late and lacked youth development like the other strikers. (Started youth development at 16 years old!).

  2. Before he joined us, he only had 6 months playing as a striker. He was a winger for majority of his career.

  3. Due to the 2 points above, the killer instinct is lacking from his end product. He has a major hinderance that you just cant teach - it is gained naturally from experience and youth development.

It is sad and he can’t control it. With what he had against him I am surprised he has made it this far in his career and kudos to him for that. However, that is not good enough for us.

For reference, here is the link where he tells his story. He played street football until he was 16, only then starting development in Senegal.

Perhaps he should start playing barefooted again - he loved to to tell the world he only had his first boots late into his teens. Maybe he would be better with those calloused and hardened tootsies out in the open.

You're into his feet now? This obsession with him is moving in a new direction.

Who will buy Nico Jackson? Realistically.

“Competition? I have no competition. We’re all here to help the club. Everyone has their role to play. I’m on a mission. It’s up to the coach to make his choices. I focus solely on my work,” Jackson.

“I’m a Chelsea player. The future belongs to God. If there are any changes, you’ll know. For now, I’m focused on my preparation.”

Villa, Utd, Newcastle or Juventus.

Personally I think those are the only 4 options.

Villa Man Utd Newcastle Barcelona and Real Madrid are linked to date

Problem is that £60m becomes £45m in Jan; might even be less if isn’t playing regularly and is kicking up a fuss in a World Cup year. Club needs
