Nicolas Jackson - striker

When it comes to finishing there are 2 major issues with Jackson.

  1. He started development late and lacked youth development like the other strikers. (Started youth development at 16 years old!).

  2. Before he joined us, he only had 6 months playing as a striker. He was a winger for majority of his career.

  3. Due to the 2 points above, the killer instinct is lacking from his end product. He has a major hinderance that you just cant teach - it is gained naturally from experience and youth development.

It is sad and he can’t control it. With what he had against him I am surprised he has made it this far in his career and kudos to him for that. However, that is not good enough for us.

For reference, here is the link where he tells his story. He played street football until he was 16, only then starting development in Senegal.

2 major issues but puts 3 bullet points.

You sir have won the internet for today

Except the biggest problem isn't his finishing. I accept his finishing is bad - but it is simply 1 bad thing, from a number of bad things.

The biggest problem is that he is rubbish at football.

ok Jim, have a good weekend pal

If you read it again, you would realize I am speaking about the main issues, even in the 3rd bullet lol

Cracking weekend. Acting like a bigger kid than usual - Go Karting, Carvery with my mum and Oasis tonight at Wem-ber-ley. Its good travelling without the wife! :D

He'll just go sign up to the club forum for whoever buys him and continue on there. This is his entire personality. He can't change.

Many happy years of Shed End bliss were had before the donkey arrived and failed. Will just go back to that same happy go lucky person, who used to wind up Gol about Jorgi boy

Nicolas Jackson increasingly likely to leave Chelsea. Suitors in PL & abroad considering 24yo if do not land top target, lose existing player or alongside current options. #CFC sales completed/agreed at £200m+ with £100/150m more expected @TheAthleticFC

It would be a shame to lose him as he’s proven PL striker. Surely we are only weakening ourselves by selling him?

We are, but it'll be a very healthy profit for the club and the accountancy nerds.

I think Nkunku is going to be hard to shift, as there is next to no interest in him. Pedro #1, Delap #2 Nkunku #3 and hopefully Guiu proves himself and comes back for a challenge next season if we can drum up any interest in Nkunku.

Do people genuinely think - having watched Jackson miss, squander and elbow his way around the pitch for us - that we are actually making ourselves weaker by selling him?

I cant work out if some are WUMs, delusional or if they simply dont have the first clue about football....

Exactly. The finishing was inconsistent, his touch was dicey, with awfully bad decision-making under pressure.

Selling Jackson clears the way for someone with more bite up front in Delap. Raw aggression, proper positioning, and that ability to put his backside into every centre-back like he’s personally offended they showed up.

So yeah. If Jackson goes, we won’t be weaker. Just… different. Sharper. Meaner. More direct. I’m all for that.

Just seen Utd have put £74M in for Sesko, now I’m no Jackson fan in the slightest, but if that goof can fetch that much then our goof should match or exceed that figure, PL experience considered.

What is going on with the world.

Better question is where United got all this money from.

Massive global fanbase, huge commercial income, and consistent revenue streams. Their spending power reflects their size and brand, not just on-pitch success. United are one of the richest clubs in the world...

Maybe I should’ve phrased it better.

How are United spending all this money when Ratcliffe said they are PSR broke.

He brings the whole team down and misses and unbelievable amount if chances.. We are MUCH better without someone playing who depresses the rest of the team. The players are united without him in the side, he doesn't care about Chelsea, only about himself.. He can leave, good riddance.

Come on, he’s made mistakes and had moments of madness - however he’s very young and has had to burden the full weight of responsibility for the team. Something that he should have had to do.

He can still play his part for us. Pedro and Delap are not exactly proven in the goal department are they? We’re still going to need depth.
