Although I was pretty worried when my fav Dutch porn star plumber/handyman got a run of games between the sticks a while back. Fun times. I don't think I know enough Dutch porn stars/plumbers/handymen to actually have a favourite one ... 🙂

November 13, 20241 yr Never hoped for anyone to get injured, but alls I am asking is for Sanchez to be a little under the weather for a couple weeks...

Lol There is clearly a stubbornness from upstairs and their sunk cost fallacy in continuing to persist with Sanchez. Took Sanchez getting injured for Poch to realize that Petrovic was a more balanced GK and thus provided more calmness within the backline. Can only hope the same happens with Jorgensen and the Dane proves to be the one all along.

Maybe he is used in trade to sign Diogo (the new Hulk transfer) Costa.
November 13, 20241 yr Maresca needs to grow some balls and just admit he was wrong and drop Sanchez in the league.
November 13, 20241 yr I can't be the only one who thinks he should have done way better on Martinelli's goal, right?

Perhaps he is fixated on this A/B squad thing.

There's been a lot of strange decisions by the club since the take over but the GK issue and their refusal to admit they're wrong about Sanchez is probably the weirdest.

I think the ‘higher ups’ are still hoping one of Penders/Slonina becomes the next Thibaut (minus the snakiness) and will persist with Sanchez being this stopgap solution. The issue is, he’s not good enough to be a stopgap. Diogo Costa will never happen and if it does it’s to go City. I’ve said it numerous times but for the value and the quality of player the fact we didn’t get Mamadashville but instead plumped nearly twice as much on Penders/Jorgensen. Bizarre and will haunt us for a Decade.

Not only us missing out on him but letting Liverpool get him and replace Alisson with ease is sickening. They've made two signings for £100m and sorted their GK position for the last 5 years and the next decade. We're 7(?) signings and £100m+ spent and we've got progressively worse between the sticks.

November 19, 20241 yr I must be hallucinating after the lack of football, Quote me on this... "this guy will win us 3 points this weekend." Big performance needed from him given the rumours...

Trigger warning - we scouted both Alisson and Mamardashvili long before Liverpool were interested. On both occasions we did f**k all!
November 20, 20241 yr Soon we could 10 GKs with Palmer on the field, or 11 GKs if we try hard enough. Brighton didn't miss Sanchez after the sale, pretty sure Liverpool won't mind losing Kellegher to us either. We basically paid big bucks for number 2 GKs clubs trying to offload.

As for Penders; we paid £17m for a 19yr old goalie playing reserves football in the Belgian league. His club gave him 2 first team appearances to ensure the transfer goes through, and have dropped him to the bench ever since. I can imagine he will be playing u21 football alongside other expensive signings like Omari Kellyman & Deivid Washington.
