With interest rife in the goalkeeper, it has been reported that Galatasaray have made an offer to sign him this summer.

Journalist Sami Yen Haber has stated that negotiations are currently ongoing between the two clubs over a potential loan with an option to buy.

He said: “Galatasaray’s first verbal offer for Petrovic is €5 million for a rental fee and a €15 million purchase option. Negotiations are ongoing.”

He's worth 35 minimum.

That's weird, Sanchez didn't have to fight for the number 1 spot once last season. If i remember correctly Matesca said from day one Sanchez was his number one.

You think it’s Maresca making these decisions or the people above? Maresca is the perfect yes man, there’s no sword for him to fall on so long as he bends over and lets the big boys in the board room keep spanking him.

Don't know if this has been posted yet but along with the eye test is ends any question of who had a better season.

This is across their whole careers, not just last season, but it does prove the point, albeit Petrovic still has to demonstrate he can do it in the PL for me.

His stats in the MLS were superb, and also in Ligue 1, but he was below those standards of shot stopping in the PL.

Academic as it stands, as sadly some managers no longer rate goalkeepers on their ability to prevent goals that other lesser keepers would let in.

Players and agents are not deaf, they hear things and most definitely the general consensous at the club is that Penders will lock that GK position in a couple of years tops. Hence Chelsea trying to sign someone like Maignan who will be in his 30s next month and accept getting benched as soon as Penders is ready in a few years.

Petrovic is a decent GK that has improved last season, he goes somewhere and plays as #1 and we also make a good profit on him. Guess it is fair for both parties. IMHO it's either Maignan or Sanchez up until Penders is ready.

SORRY. BUT THE DEAL FOR MAIGNAN IS DEAD IN THE WATER, CHELSEA ARE NOT GOING BACK FOR HIM, IF WE SIGN A GOALKEEPER IT WILL BE TRAFFORD (BUT MOST INSIDERS ARE SAYING HE IS GOING TO NEWCASTLE), SO MY GUESS IS WE WILL STICK WITH WHO WE HAVE

I think it's really stupid that the club is taking steps to allow Petrovic to go on loan or be sold. It's not about player power but about giving chances to people who dared to knock on the door.

Couldn't they just ask Maresca to give Petrovic a shot in the CWC first. As good as Sanchez has been the last couple of games, it's worth a try to give Petrovic a run between the sticks for a while until the season starts.

Rather than Maignan, it would make more sense to have Petrovic become a better keeper before having someone like Penders step up. Sanchez would have been a good 2nd keeper

Because coming back to renegotiate would just make Inter raise the price even more. 20M is already getting too much for a has-been GK with injury issues

Sanchez as number one we can already know we won't win a thing next season.

Surely that has to be bo**ocks. No f**king way can Sanchez be No. 1.

Really feel Petrovic has done enough to be given the No.1 spot and he should be our keeper going into next season. Unfortunately I think the club see £££££ on the bottom line and seem set to cash in.

Woudn't have said no to Maignan, but wasn't too bothered either way. BUT if we do sell Petrovic we HAVE to buy. Think either Trafford or Henderson would be a massive upgrade on Sanchez. Slightly annoying that Newcastle could be getting Trafford, when they already have Pope who is 100% better than Sanchez.

Anyway, PLEASE just sort it out so we don't have that clown derailing our season before it's too late.

Best we can do now is a Top 4. Any idea of a title challenge is done and dusted.

The stranglehold Ben Roberts has on the club is incredible.
