So they walked away from France number one over a few million difference in valuation. And yet they've been spending hundreds of millions on youngsters that will never play for the club and we'll never be able even to recoup those fees, let alone turn a profit, because they're rubbish.

Then they put up for sale Petrovic, who's the best keeper we've currently got and put out PR statements on how "Sanchez had a strong end to the season and we're happy with our goalkeepers" (translation: we're not singning Magnan).

Then they will end up massively overpaying for Gittens and will call it a win.

WTF is going on with these decision makers?

Petrovic has earned his chance and should be given the No.1 jersey. Everyone can see that. If we sell him and keep Sanchez as No. 1, we may as well just write next season off now before a ball is kicked.

When Petrovic was at Chelsea his distribution wasn't particularly good. I thought it had improved at Strasbourg but apparently not as much. Maybe Maresca wants a keeper like he had at Leicester who was very comfortable with feet. The pressing at French league is probably not close to what it is at Prem so you look much better at it under less pressure.

Anyway it is strange if Petrovic doesn't get a chance to prove himself. Again we know nothing what is talked behind closed doors.

So what if Petrovic is better than Sanchez, just think of the PROFITS we can make

They have included new signings, such as Delap, so the reason given for the exclusion of Petrovic (sticking with the 2024-2025 squad members) is confirmed to be nonsense.

The CWC has some strange rules when it comes to player eligibility particularly when it comes to keepers.Three minimum Four maximum .

Penders and Petrovic are I believe still technically out on loan till 30/6.Solina had his loan cancelled in January . He , Solina is named as he fits the eligibility criteria and fulfilled the requirement to have a minimum of 3 keepers who are Sanchez, Jorgensen and Solina . There seems to be at this point in time clear evidence Penders is higher up the pecking order to Petrovic.

If I am right Penders isn’t eligible for the 3 group games. I might be 100% wrong but I don’t think Santos is eligible to play in the group stages either. Essugo was never on loan his deal was concluded on 2/6 so he is.

All the players we bought in the mini window are eligible as would any players had bought in any on loan.

If you remember Real had to pay a significant fee to Liverpool to facilitate Trent’s inclusion in their squad. In effect Trent went for a fee as opposed to completely running down his contract. Put simply Trents contract with Liverpool wouldn’t have ended till 30/6 so there had to be an agreement for the Liverpool contract to be ended early.The original contract couldn’t be allowed to run its course if Real wanted him in their squad for the group stage.

Once we get past 26/6 we can replace players and in the case of a keeper they can be replaced if injured but only if the replacement is eligible.

Having said all that we get accreditation for 35 players so don’t be at all surprised to see players not in the squad travelling to the US with maybe a couple of individuals being replaced in a window mid tournament which extends past 30/6
