With such a HUGE step up from South America to the EPL, all of them could be found massively wanting. Oh well, the excitement was good while it lasted! Good news for Ligue1 though. I don't believe Anselmino belongs in the same bracket as those 3. Barco who went to Brighton was much highly rated.

No doubt the step up is huge, but they are talents and deserve a chance. The prior comment on Endrick is somewhat misplaced also. Took Vini Jnr 3-4 years to settle at Madrid. Patience is key otherwise we’ll end up with a Salah or KDB scenario. Trouble is patience doesn’t win matches.
January 8, 20251 yr Author Estevao would be Madueke/Neto's understudy. Santos would be with Lavia/Enzo/Caicedo. Isn't like we are throwing them to the wolves here.

I think long term Estevao will 100% make it at the highest level, Paez will so long as his attitude is right and Santos is already PL ready. Anselmino i have no clue about as i've hardly seen anything about him. Short term though we just need to be realistic with our expectations. 23 hours ago, 19seventyone said: Agreed in general but Endrick has the quality I reckon. He 100% has the quality but i was just using him as an example that we shouldn't be looking at Estevao to come in next season and starting every week over the wingers we already have. It'll take a couple of years is all.

That was quite literally the point of the comment about Endrick. Vini was used as an example in the first place.

January 8, 20251 yr Author Vini was supposed to be Hazard’s understudy. Hazard’s injury forced Real to throw Vini in where he basically had to sink or swim. That shouldn’t be the case with Estevao. At the moment it looks like he has players ahead of him until he gets the hang of the league.
January 8, 20251 yr Endrick has to move players who are worth individually at least £100 million to get minutes outside of the Copa Del Rey. Estevao doesn’t have the same level of competition at Chelsea. I’m hopeful we’ll see plenty from him next season but I’m a realist. It’s a massive jump in fitness, weather, food, culture and intensity. Put it this way. If he ends up playing over half our league games next season then it’s likely he is the real deal and we have something really special. I’ve watched quite a few of Estevao’s and Paez games this season. I think Paez will be a very consistent player. Endrick might not get that consistency but looks to have a bit of magic about him. Hopefully at least one of them will make it at the Bridgr

Its what normally happens with some fans, build this kind of scenario that has little basis in reality ad absolutely ne comment from the club, then rage at the club when it doesnt actually happen. Same as all the transfer rumour bo**ocks.
January 9, 20251 yr I think patience is key and when we are smart we all get that and understand that it will take time. But then on another level we all want Lamine Yamal type who comes straight into the first team. Not likely to happen. Not in this league. Patience. BUT. What needs to happen is Enzo Maresca has to be a lot smarter when using his attacking substitutions. We have Nkunku and Felix and Maresca has really failed to utilise them properly. When it comes to subs and rotation Enzo the Elder really must do better. These South American kids next season will need some minutes.
January 9, 20251 yr Well f**k me, I've been looking forward to watching this kid after reading months of adulatory praises on here only to discover that as the time gets near to his arrival that " it's a big step up" and the best I can hope is that he might be second or third choice behind a couple of bang average Chelsea players. Don't tell me now after the big buildup that he's probably going off on loan ? I'll never believe you lot again if this carries on !😂

January 10, 20251 yr We all get hyped by potential, but transfermarkt has this kid as our 7th most valuable player already. A lot of the guys hyped on here aren't valued yet. Here's transfer markets valuations for players younger than Cole Palmer for Chelsea https://www.transfermarkt.com/estevao/profil/spieler/1056993 They still have kendry paez at 12m, Andrey Santos at 25m, and Estevao at 50m Josh Acheampong Right-Back May 5, 2006 (18) €1.00m Tyrique George Left Winger Feb 4, 2006 (18) - Marc Guiu Centre-Forward Jan 4, 2006 (19) €8.00m Deivid Washington Centre-Forward Jun 5, 2005 (19) €9.00m Aarón Anselmino Centre-Back Apr 29, 2005 (19) €8.00m Roméo Lavia Defensive Midfield Jan 6, 2004 (21) €40.00m Carney Chukwuemeka Central Midfield Oct 20, 2003 (21) €15.00m Renato Veiga Left-Back Jul 29, 2003 (21) €10.00m Malo Gusto Right-Back May 19, 2003 (21) €35.00m Levi Colwill Centre-Back Feb 26, 2003 (21) €55.00m Cesare Casadei Central Midfield Jan 10, 2003 (22) €10.00m Lucas Bergström Goalkeeper Sep 5, 2002 (22) €700k

Enzo Fernandez was the Godlike signing hyped to the heavens by some. Even more ridiculously some thought Sterling would actually be a good signing.... Don't believe any of us, we know naff all! Well aside from @dkw, you should listen to him. As should we all.

He was pants, absolute dog sh*te. His youtube highlights from his first three seasons in Madrid are a clown fest. I am not kidding at all, back then I was wondering how did Real Madrid sign this buffoon and maybe he was some dude from the Brazilian favelas taking the piss. He was that bad. The transformation, though... Never in my life have I seen a player to look like an amateur for three seasons straight and then instantly shift to a world class level, like a gipsy curse was put on him over night and had a deal with the devil, too. Player go from bad, to average, to being good and then world class, with Vinicius it was nothing like that, he went from piss poor, homeless status to Elon Musk type of wealth overnight.
January 11, 20251 yr The kid is a ridicilous talent and I am suprised how easy we got him, before Madrid/Barca etc. but he seriously need to hit the gym if he wants to make it in the Prem.

We "missed out" on Endrick and Vitor Roque and managed to secure Kendry Paez and Estevao. My hope is that it will go down in history like when Man United 'missed out' on Ricardo Quaresma and signed Cristiano Ronaldo instead.

January 15, 20251 yr Based on what Maresca wants from him wide players, and shown by that he is not willing to play Palmer out wide. IF Big Enz is still the manager next season, will Estevao (and Paez) just be back ups to Cole Palmer?
