May 31, 20251 yr Does anyone actually believe he’ll be starting week in week out ahead of Madueke & Neto next season? Think it will take him a while to settle in.

Football will be his escape, but so much change for someone so young will take time. Edited May 31, 20251 yr by PhilH930

Realistically it will take some time for him to get up to speed, learn the language/system, but our bar for wingers at the moment is at its lowest imo. We even had to put our hopes on George at some point, and I believe most of us believe he's nowhere ready to play for us yet.

The fee for Neto might be an obstacle but it really wouldn't surprise me if Amorim tried to link up Neto and Cunha again, if he can offload the clown Antony
May 31, 20251 yr Noni to Newcastle seems like a deal that will get done. He’s not really developed in the two seasons with us. Potential is there but I still think he thinks he’s better than he is.
June 1, 20251 yr It all depends on how good he is. If he’s good enough he starts. It’s not like he’s got difficult competition.

June 6, 20251 yr Looked a bit out of his depth last night but always to be expected. We really need to ease him in slowly next season. 1500 mins all comps would be good.
June 6, 20251 yr My brother was in Sao Paulo last month, they were absolutely raving about him saying he's going to be a star. He looks good, but I always thought if Neymar was going to come here when he was 18 when all the media was screaming he was Chelsea bound back in 2011-2012, I had a feeling he would've struggled quite a bit. It's a totally different league and climate to adjust to at such a young age, a lot of pressure and expectation. Going to Barca was the right move for him at the time. Not saying he's going to flop, just how many Brazilian wonderkids have came straight to the Premier League and smashed it? Oscar and Gabriel Jesus were pretty good but that's all that comes to mind when I think about it. There's been many Brazilian wonderkids over the years, Endrick, Roque, Lucas Piazon, Adryan, Anderson, major hype, all struggled. Not going to expect wonders from him and believe he's going to fix the problem, it would be a good idea to still secure a top player on the left flank before the season kicks off.

I have 0 expectations of him next season, my only hope for next season is that he can get good playing time and he can improve and that is it.
June 10, 20251 yr Estevao already looked young and small in his first start for Brazil which is more than natural and expected. I would have thought Strasbourg is the step he should take first...
June 10, 20251 yr I have no idea what to expect. If the hype is real and he’s good enough he’ll play. Look at Yamal.Let’s not put pressure on him and expect him to be our main man. If he stays they think he’s ready then a few cameos from the bench. A CC game etc. let him get settled, we may see more of him after Xmas. He’s Brazilian, he will want to be in their WC squad even at his age.We won’t know until he gets his first minutes exactly where he is in his development. Exciting really, a bit of a throw back to old signings before highlight reels etc where you signed a player and had no idea what you was getting. I know we have an idea but u know what I mean, how good is he/can he be?I’ll never forget Dave Mitchell’s debut, it didn’t take us long to work out what we’d got that day I can still hear the laughter. June 10, 20251 yr Really hope we give him his debut on a midweek evening game against (and in) Stoke. It will save us a lifetime of wondering....

June 11, 20251 yr He is not going to come in and be great. He just isn’t. My worry is that many fans and even the owners don’t seem to get that. It will take a year just to bed in culturally and start to adapt to the vastly different PL. And even more time to get himself up to speed physically. He will most likely be doing this while trying to fend off near constant media and fan criticism “thought you were better than Neymar!?” We need to have people to step up and take the pressure off, AND fans that will put their arms around d him and shield him. We don’t really have either.
June 15, 20251 yr First 10 minutes in and his movement is outstanding, he's not been picked up at all, tracked right, central, point. Made a great run into the box as the ball was carried by a team mate left. Ball was behind him but he got a shot off that went wide. The game looks like it's on 1.5x speed, hectic and manic.Very telling that his team mates seem desperate to get the ball to him as often as possible. June 16, 20251 yr He really seemed like he wanted to score. So I don't think he will fit in here. Maybe could be converted into a full back.
June 16, 20251 yr He looks so positive ,head up and driving forward ...we'll soon knock that out of him ,he'll learn sideways and backwards is always best
