Crazy that Liverpool are close to signing Mamardashvili for €30m even though they still have Allison.  While we buy a complete unknown gk for close to the same cost and nobody knows if he’s an upgrade.  How come we didn’t get involved in this?  

Could it be that we are CFC (Chelsea Financial Club) and run by clowns?

They are then sending him on loan to Bournemouth, I`m sure no one on here would have a problem if we paid that for a keeper then loaned him to a premier league team...

It’s a solid plan though; they loan him out for 2 seasons and he comes over after to take over from Allison. It’s better than what we are doing with Jorgensen who is one year younger. Marmadashivilli has 2 1/2 yrs of experience at the top level and will be playing constantly in the PL on loan. We have bought Jorgensen after 1 season to come and ride our bench.

I dont disagree, but as I said, the opinion on this if it was us doing it would be completely different.

The difference is that they’ve got Allison while we’ve got Sanchez, we’d be stupid if we bought Mamardashvili and send him on loan given our options for that position.

I think the difference is Liverpool have identified a new young goal keeper with great potential and experience to replace Allison in a similar way to how we had Courtois ready to replace Cech.  Whereas our plan is to buy 9 goal keepers with little experience or completely average in quality in the hope one will magically turn out great.  With a high probability that we will end up buying another keeper next summer.

Don't we have to sell some players?

And loan some players out?

Buy a few more goalies?

Well I guess it doesn't get much sillier than being linked with Jadon Sancho right after we bought Neto 🙂

Outlier rumours today of Disasi to Newcastle. He is not the first choice for Newcastle - Marc Guehi is the first choice. £65m bid for Marc. But as that may be stalling they are looking elsewhere and Disasi is on their list. Also, Badaishille is attracting interest from Ligue 1 clubs. We overpaid for both of them and they have been adequate back-ups in all honesty - our preference is for the Levi & Wes partnership.

We do need to sell and/or move players. Yesterday we had to sell/move 10 and today we are down to 9.

We do need backup defenders in the squad. Obviously Tosin will be one but we would need at least one more CB. Seems unlikely that we will offload both Disasi and Badiashile without making a loss. So more likely selling one will be balanced by also selling Chalobah.

It is impossible to find the logic and reasoning in what 'they' would do.  Selling both the Badi and Disasi is logical to me, keep Chalobah. We have the young Argentinian kid arriving in 6 months or maybe a year? Reece James a CB is do-able IF we have to.

Agreed. Who knows? They may end up selling Badi, Disasi, and Chalobah this window.

With gallacher gone, sterling and chillwell looking likely to leave too, doesnt this leave us in a situation where we need homegrown players to make up our squad? Would be very nice of we could sell badi and disasi and bring trevor back in as their homegrown replacement.

Becomes our 6th goal keeper on loan, to go with the three GKs in the squad, and the other 3 whose 2024 season hasn't been resolved yet. Very possible that none of the 12 are the right stuff ... 

Meanwhile, Liverpool are quietly signing Mamardashvili ...
