Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*

This West Ham is exactly the type of team that fits Jackson as they defend high and leave tons of room for runs.

Wake up and smell the coffee will you? Yes he was "still selected" and he scored twice and made the assist for the third so the manager was right and you should sit down and be quiet since Jackson proved everyone wrong (myself included), saying that he still shouldn't have started sounds like a piss poor take at the moment considering the reality of it all...

Also could have had a 2nd assist, very unlike palmer to scuff/drag that shot.

I'm so happy he's getting better with the offside rule too. Lol

He'll fk up again. Both haaland and kane were offside recently on their runs in the last few games.

And was it 2 games ago when haaland scored 2 but after what seemed like a million chances wasted by him!

Jackson is developing well imo, at times maybe nkunku is a better starter depending on the team we play or sometimes a super sub that can physically push tired defenders aside and score.

Personally I like the fact we have them both and so far trust and like our manager.

He's not 1 sided, he is tactical and comes across clever and I love he doesn't come across as a pushover.

I like where we are at the moment and looking forward to how this squad develops...we do have a tendency to be too critical at times. Me included.

Still early days but that's still two good results there.

Our counter-attacking is lethal, can't help but feel like there is this void in midfield though, it's been there for a while. Enzo again is not really playing to a high standard, Caicedo is carrying the midfield most games. Veiga was the weak link there against Bournemouth and this time just not enough from Enzo.

So... Lots of room for improvement, but so far so good from the gaffer.

This is so wide of the mark. Jackson was awful last game against Bournemouth and yet, was still selected. Missed 3 excellent chances in that game. And yes, it turned out brilliantly today. But based on his performance, and the quality N'kunku added when he came on, Jackson should not have started today.

Jackson is a real number 9, nkunku is not a real number 9 however nkunku can positionally play number 9 if that makes sense as he is a attack minded player hence what you saw against Bournemouth

Marescas words

Also tactically this game probably suited jackson more than nkunku

Meh give credit where its due marescas got that hunger back in the players because they got quality players on the bench breathing down their necks.

Yeah, I feel we have issues in midfield and defence more than attack.

At the start i was extremely worried about the defence. I still am tbh but not as much as before. Cucu and Colwill are doing well, with the latter still learning and showing progress. I was worried about Tosin, i like his leadership and being vocal in the training vids and preseason but i was worried he wasnt any good on the pitch. Against west ham he did really well and surprised me. Fofana is just at a lower level than Colwill atm but I feel there's always a mistake coming from him at some point. Veiga is a good sub, disaster brothers aren't!

RB, we have issues as we all know because of injuries.

But after all that we have the numbers.

Midfield!

I know lavia is slowly coming back but he's injury prone. KDH isnt upto the level/standard of the PL (yet!? no idea if that will change).

Enzo jnr is taking a fkn long time to master being an 8 (or whatever). Worryingly he was anonymous to me vs West ham. I don't really remember any major contributions from him, just a few passes and failed tackles.

Is chucky fit or injured?

And if something happens to caicedo we're fkd because I think that's our whole midfield section. I missed out felix deliberately even though he's down as an attacker/midfielder. Maybe he can play an 8 but still the numbers seem on the light side.

One more injury in midfield and I think we'll be in a very difficult place. I doubt we would be able to control midfield area in games.

The defence is weaker on paper than last season for me. Basically swapped Chalobah for Adarabioyo, and then failed to replace Thiago Silva with anybody, let alone someone of similar ability and experience. I think we'll regret that once we hit the harder fixtures against teams with better forwards than we have faced to date. and especially as we didn't exactly improve our goalkeeper options either ...

The midfield is significantly weaker. Gallagher replaced by KDH (every game Conor plays at Atletico is making that decision look more odd) and then Ugochukwu allowed to go out on loan, so we have even less cover than we had in 23/24.

No idea what is going on with Chukwuemeka. Maresca following his owner/DoF orders I suspect ?

It is hard to say the defense is weaker when Chalobah barely played last season.

The midfield is clearly weaker.

Attacker wise, we are clearly better. We basically added Felix, Nkunku, neto, Sancho and lost only Sterling.

Enzo Maresca 🗣️ "I watched many Chelsea games last season and rarely saw man-to-man pressing. They often seemed clueless in linking up play, despite having quality players. We'll work on that and improve this season."

i have a very good feeling about Maresca. More i read about him, more i like him.

He seems to have a clear idea and vision of what he wants and what he believes this group are capable of.
We just need Todd and Eghbali to keep there sh*t together off field so the players and manager can focus.

I think the results, given we’re 2 guaranteed starters still out, James & Lavia, who will both add such an extra dimension when fit and available are a credit to Maresca.
Didn’t fancy the appointment when it was made, don’t like the treatment of Chuky (wether that’s Enzo or the board) but cannot argue so far with the results.
I’m happy to admit that so far I was wrong about him. Tougher month coming up next so that’s the real test.

I like this all our successful managers made it clear it’s their way or the highway.

I love this.

Every time I see it, I love it.

I said we needed poch at the beginning/last season for the nurturing side, but I'm so happy we have, imo, the manager to take these kids the next stage up. No more nursery time, the kids are growing and it's time to get the work in for school!

Agree wasn't keen on Tosin from what I saw early days and being a free transfer from Fulham you don't expect too much. But he changed the game more than most when he came on against Bournemouth, the only defender who could pick out a pass and get the ball to our forwards because the midfield was non existant.

Enzo is my biggest concern atm, not that I think he's a huge liability (I still believe he can come good) it's just that we desperately need that number 8 and Enzo is taking his damn time to adapt, whereas Caicedo can have the odd poor game here and there but he's definitely coming into his stride in the last 8 months here.

I'm calling bullsh*t on this article below..

Noni Madueke told he's in danger of being sold by Chelsea

According to The Boot Room, Madueke has been told he's fighting for his Chelsea future, alongside both Christopher Nkunku and Mudryk, as Maresca currently has ...

This is presumably to spare Mudryk's feelings? I mean if you had to pick one of the three to get rid of the decision isn't particularly hard (assuming our motivation is to keep the best players)...

It's rubbish click bait mate...

After the intro:

"All three of the players mentioned (including the rest of the squad) have been informed that there’s a path to stay and play under Maresca, but they will need to fight for their place."

Maresca mentioned the whole squad needs to fight for their spots. Its click bait.
