I don't believe that was the reason we failed to get Guehi. His wage demands would not fit our model. That is why we are not signing any experienced players. Instead, we will be after some unknown from S. America. Another Anselmino who will be added to the loan factory.

We have

Chalobah, Tosin, Fofana, Acheampong already

I ignore Colwil, Hato, sarr, anselmino, Badi, Disasi

£ land Pep has been figured out completely. I read the Lincoln manager said he knew how to nullify us because he’s seen it done several times already. Put someone on the DM and we don’t know what to do.

Crystal Palace did it, Fulham did it, most teams last season figured out how to do it.

£ land Pep however insist on continuing to play the same way over and over and over and again!!

He’s a clown!!!

Newcastle: Eddie Howe vows to protect Miley after critics...

Eddie Howe says Newcastle United will do all they can to "protect" Lewis Miley after the teenager received "totally unjustified" criticism on social media.

The way Howe protects and nurtures his young players, not to mention his general thoughtfullness and honesty in the way he speaks to the media is in such stark contrast to our own bullsh*tting Pepilini.

Fully agree I can’t listen to his press conferences now it’s pure gaslighting from £land Pep!!!

If our manager had to protect and nurture young players who were perceived to be under performing from social media criticism it would be a full time job.

Eddie Howe is a well rated manager but is he top level? Slightly concerning that he is tipped for England manager as that usually means hes not top level just nice and English. Potters in the same bracket.

Marescas pressers are awful but if they were in a Jacob Rees Mogg style Gordon Ramsey or whoever it hardly matters.

Massive 3 games for Enzo this - Brighton, Benfica and Liverpool. Can easily see us losing 2/3 of these. We’re not in good form, loads of injuries and fatigue.

Brace yourself for turbulence.

It’s 7 points now, but you do have to wonder just how big the gap will be come November.

I wonder what the directors will say then on seeing improvement. They’ll just make excuses on the squad that they built wasn’t equipped well enough.

Could be 12-15pts by Nov. No way they admit they admit the squad isn’t good/equipped enough. They have already said he can tap into our loanees if he needs to strengthen

If we have to tap into our loanees then there’s already an admission the squad isn’t equipped well enough.

I absolutely love how Maresca is calling them out because we as fans deserve these imbeciles take some accountability.

The thing here is, the squad is good enough. It’s just not utilised well enough, but it’s plenty good enough.

Injuries are playing a huge part, I think it was unanimous that we’d hugely upgraded going forward all summer.

Colwill’s injury SHOULD have triggered a reaction be that blooding one of Sarr/Anselmino or recruiting, no action there was catastrophic.

The club is pinning its hopes on Penders, again, as we all deem Sanchez not good enough what would’ve been the harm in allowing Big Mike this season?

Regardless of that though the squad if played to its strengths is easily, and I mean easily, good enough to walk the Top 4. It’s just the rigidness and structure we play in that prevents that.

Look how poor Palmer looks under Enzo.

Estevao isn’t really getting a look in, Santos doesn’t even see minutes most games and these are Brazil internationals.

Could the recruitment have been better? Yes. Is this squad still good enough to beat the likes of Utd & Palace? Also Yes.

The results are on Enzo.

Yup.

  • Maresca blaming directors.

  • Directors saying squad should do better.

Both are right for the wrong reasons.

Who suffers? We the fans.

Can you post up some links to this criticism of the directors from Maresca, Sconnie? I haven't seen anything much myself.

I know he made a few comments about wanting a replacement for Colwill, which I didn't necessarily agree with.

Saying they are weak at CB, and that he’d love to rotate but can’t. Saying Guiu is the only ST at the club. Saying he couldn’t really rest Palmer despite him carrying an injury since last season.

He said all that whilst at the same time praised Liverpool’s recruitment as they showed intent to retain the league and go far in Europe.

OK, so pretty much more whining and bullsh*t. He says Guiu's the only striker, but then he won't put him on the pitch. Can't rotate, but starts Fernandez every single game over Santos. Palmer carrying an injury, and he can't rest him, so decides it best to keep using him until he breaks. And praises Liverpool, which is a good chance to get some more excuses in before we play them next week.

Christ.

Next game is against Liverpool so that's 3 defeats on the trot. Winless in 4 in the league.

Surely Maresca needs to go as soon as the final whistle is blown against Liverpool.

A short goal kick when we are down a goal and with 10 men. That simply screams Enzo Maresca.

When you factor the injuries and Maresca’s poor decisions when up against adversity, this is dangerously heading towards another 10th place finish.

Don’t rate him and never been convinced he was the right fit for us.

The Conference League and Club World Cup successes disguised the shortcomings of this coach.

Given the level of transfer investment from the owners, 8 points from our first 6 games of a new season is totally unacceptable.
