Enrique would have made a pretty good Chelsea manager I reckon. What a shame our owners and sporting directors are a bunch of muppets ...

Enrique plays possession football how it should be played. Plenty a vertical passing, quick, constant movement off the ball, two touch maximum in advanced positions with the 10 playing one touch, generally putting the pacy wingers in behind.

Light years ahead of what we ended up with.

PSG at the start of the season were completely different, so it looks like they have all bought into Enrique's methods now.

That being said, when you compare the technical ability of our players vs PSG, it's no contest. They are a side built for possession.

And pace. This all comes from running and running off the ball. There are so many options for the player in possession, that it allows them to play two touch football. Half our lot take three touches just to control the ball, so have no option but to go back negatively into the safe zone, thus killing all momentum.

EDIT: I'd even say that you could put Nkunku into their team and he'd score 20 goals and put Dembele into ours and he'd disappear.

We can move the ball with pace though. Quick transition is our bread and butter.

It’s when we slow it down is where it hurts us. As you mentioned, some of our lot need 3 touches to control the ball and our wingers aren’t technical enough to take on their man effectively.

Good result.

Takes Arsenal out of their comfort zone as well given they have to go for it vs sit back in the 2nd leg.

Broken record but PSG are everything we are pretending to be.

And we are everything they were meant to be after selling Mbappe.

Sounds like PSG wasted some good chances to win by more.

Hope we don't all regret that.

Should have won 3-0 minimum, but they were toying with Arsenal at the end, just easily holding them off, reminded me of how we used to ease to wins in europe under Jose.

My God I hate the French but PSG are everything and more aren’t they?

Entertaining whilst still maintaining total control. Quick Pacey attacking complimented by some proper solid defending.

All they had to do was get rid of the 2 biggest frauds in the modern game (Neymar & MBappe) and finally reach their potential.

Could watch them all day and sincerely hope they lift old big ears this year.

I don't much care for PSG, but I dislike Arsenal far more. I find the issue with PSG is they seem to be in control and look lively in the first 30 mins, then they seem to drop off. I don't know why. They also struggle to take their chances. They did the same vs Liverpool, which allowed Liverpool back into the game/tie. They were better than Aston Villa before the game away, but the same happened in that tie. They give up chances to teams, and don't take enough of their own chances. They are fortunate they have an abundance of quality in that side to make the difference. I am reaading that Dembele could miss the second leg, which would be a huge miss for PSG.

I would say the only thing they are missing is physicality, which a decent team could possibly exploit. Shame Arsenal are full of spineless bellends then eh 😄

No give them their guard of honour. Let our players feel the hurt and want some of it themselves.

WE SHOULD DO IT, IT MIGHT, JUST MIGHT LET THE PLAYERS REALISE THAT THEY HAVE TO TRY HARDER AND PROVE THAT THEY HAVENT JUST COME HERE FOR THE MONEY, AFTER DOING IT GO OUT THERE AND BATTER THEM (IT MIGHT HELP IF THE SUPPORTERS THEN DECIDED TO MAKE A TON OF NOISE ALL THROUGH THE GAME, NOT JUST WHEN WE SCORE A GOAL)

Lyons women went to Arsenal Ladies (I believe at the Emirates) and won by a single goal, only to blow it in the return leg in France.

I hope history does not repeat itself and we don't all end up regret them not killing it yesterday.

Both games vs Liverpool and Villa PSG were home first, different pressure being home in the second leg and now a clear favorite.
