Neither is Fernandez though, by his own insistence.

Fernandez isn't going to sit deep and ping passes to Vinicius and Mbappe. He wants to be an attacking 10 that bum-rushes the box to get on the end of crosses and he was indulged to do so by Maresca. He isn't interested in playing deep. He could have been that player but he doesn't want to.

Tchouameni has fallen off a form cliff since Ancelotti's last season, where he was shafted having to play at CB and even FB at times to cover an injury crisis in defence. He's had some good games this season but they need an upgrade. The optimist in me hopes that Tchouameni is in a similar situation to Yaya Toure at Barcelona, and a new club and a distinct role will revitalise his career. Camavinga is almost the exact opposite of Enzo Fernandez, a pure facilitator with limited output - basically another Mateo Kovacic.

I hope that Madrid throw the bank at him and frankly it would be hilarious to see him go from BlueCo's mascot to riding the bench, but Madrid fans are loving how industrious their midfield is these days and it is necessary to cover the defensive liability of the front three. I think they will almost certainly break the bank for Caicedo, especially if he/Ecuador has a good World Cup. He is exactly what they need.

Enzo played as a 6/8 at River and Benfica and for Argentina at the WC. He was the 6 there, with De Paul and Mac Allister a bit more advanced as the 8s.

It is only here he was played more advanced, but if he goes go Madrid he will sit deep or play as an 8. Madrid already have Bellingham as the no 10.

With Caicedo I do not worry for a bit. He is humble, a Chelsea fan and there is no noise around him. Feels like one of those players who spends all his career at the club he settles at and I am sure he will be here for a very long period.

It is the flashy players with a good presence in the media and social media I am more worried about. Palmer, Estevao, Enzo, they are the kind of players who I can see not accepting mediocrity and wanting a way out soon.

Scaloni doesn't play Enzo as the deepest midfielder anymore. It's actually similar to his role here now, where he box crashes and MacAllister + DePaul and Paredes are the runners in midfield.

It will be the same at Real Madrid with Valverde and Tchouameni.

Tchouameni is gone in two seconds if they get a good offer. And I am afraid we will be one of the clubs interested in taking him.

What's wrong with Tchouameni? We need physicality in our team.

Not a bad player, but surely priced incredibly high by Madrid.

If we are to sell Enzo, I am sure it is not going to be for 60M. Not 120M either, but somewhere around 90M, especially if he has a very good World Cup.

I'd rather we invest that money in either a top center back or a top left winger. Which I know won't happen with this sporting directors.

Can't be priced too crazy when his contract expires in 2028.

Top CB and winger I agree, but the damning thing about our squad is a severe lack of physicality.

I know all that. It's Enzo who thinks he is a ten, and Enzo who refuses to play a deeper role. It was Maresca who indulged him at a critical time in his development, and now there's no going back. He doesn't have the skill set to play deeper at this level any more, he is a liability in transition.

Bellingham, on form, is a much better player. Valverde, the captain, is so much better it doesn't bear comparison. Guler has flourished in the centre too. All three can score goals like Enzo, pass like Enzo but crucially they can run fast and dribble through midfield unlike Enzo.

So yes, I would dearly love Madrid to come in with a fat wad of cash to relieve us of a big transfer mistake, and I would love them to waste that money by trying and failing to play Enzo as a deeper CM as they watch teams cut them open on the counter. I just don't think Madrid are that stupid, but here's hoping.

This here is another example of how f**ked up things are at Chelsea FC. This is a clip from your 3-0 home loss, you've lost your four out of last five league games and got bitch slapped by PSG in Europe and you're posting this nonsense, as if you've got something to be proud of. 🙄

I would say that if anything this reinforces the theory that they are more interested in the value of assets than success on the pitch. Posting a skilful moment to try and boost potential interest in one of the players.

Zero shame in this lot. The worst generation of Chelsea players in my lifetime.

I think this generation of footballers are f**king pansies. Social media w**kers.

It's no wonder Mourinho doesn't have the same effect man management wise as he did in the 2000s. These w**kers would cry and have their agents run their mouths to the journalists. I reckon even SAF would find it difficult with this generation of footballers.

Neto must love it when Garnacho plays, 'cos it makes him look half decent!

But bar a couple of whipped in crosses, he was his usual predictable, non-producing self. Boy, has any club ever had such useless wide men?

Genuinely think even Strasbourg have better wingers than us.

It's so bad that we even have another sh*t one that can't play because he is banned!

A reminder he was the alternative to Olise. Two polar opposite type of wingers.

That was enough evidence to know the SDs are amateurs.

He has also regressed and is putting in zero effort like the other ones..

Wait what the hell.  This came out of nowhere!  Great player great signing in my opinion.  A player who can change a game in a moment and finally a winger who can finish.   This is the kind of signing we should be making a player who's is still young but has loads more experience and shown much more potential than our usual signings.  Defiantly a question mark over his injury record.  We do have a million wingers to cover mind.

Only Palmer and Nkunku are currently top quality.  . . .and Neto is top quality if he stays fit.
