Chelsea vs Bournemouth (PL) Tue 14th January 25 19:30 GMT

A nice second half, goals a plenty, smiles back on faces after progressing to the FA Cup 4th round.

A lovely break from reality. Time for normal service to resume.

I think their two strikers are out with injuries but I am sure we'll somehow make it easy for them.

Daniel Jebberison has been recalled and scored today for them in the cup.

No doubts the former blade will be ready to cut through our defence on Tuesday.

Sadly I don't see this poor run of form in the league ending any time soon, especially with the general display today, albeit with 2nd string players for the most part but the lack of urgency in our play is now working its way through the entire squad it seems.  We definitely need 3 points nothing else will do.

Looks to me like the only player who took the opportunity to try and force his way in to this game was Felix. I would like to see that rewarded with a start here.

With Neto playing very poorly of late and Noni out of favour that would mean Palmer moves to his best position, imo.

Unfortunately Guiu did not shine against Morecambe, so back come Nico.

Hopefully James and Lavia are able to start.

Don't think it is likely Felix starts. Could well be Enzo instead of him.

Can we end this poor run of late in the league?

I would pretty much play your first team bar i would bench Enzo and play Caciedo alongside Lavia (assuming Lavia is properly fit to start a league game) and I'd start Gusto at right back. Gusto has been far from good but I'm not a fan of playing players out of position.

I'd keep James on the bench. Maybe tempted to give Acheampong another start but maybe off the bench is more likely.

I am surprised no one has Acheampong in their team. He most certainly will start after having a good game against Palace and not taking part against Morecambe.

I do ;)

Bournemouth’s press and all.

Could do, but I would sooner Reece plays. Would like Enzo dropped for Lavia, and Felix given a shot in the 3 behind Nico.

I’d start Acheampong again and have Caicedo start at RB. It’s too early for James to be starting and knowing his injury record, I don’t want the club taking any risks. I hope Felix get decent minutes too, something like 20 minutes.

My prediction: we’ll start really well, create and miss a load of chances. Around the 30 minute mark, we’ll run out of steam and lose control of the game. Bournemouth will end up scoring in the 82nd minute.

Oh, and Reece James and Lavia will come off injured in the second half.

Funny, but also worrying quite possible, which is sad.

Bournemouth only have 13 available players, who are already depleted as it is.

We should be destroying this lot 3-0 to be honest.

maybe all the injuries hamstring and muscle are a result of all the pressing, plus Billing gone on loan to Napoli seems odd timing.

It's possible for Colwill to have another stinker and then if they score first it could end up tragically bad too.

Caicedo Acheampong Colwill Cucurella

Enzo Lavia

Palmer Felix Sancho

Palmer is getting marked out of games on the right and Felix is most effective in that advanced role as opposed to stuck out on a wing. We desperately need a striker. Nearly as badly as we need a new CB. And a competent GK that doesn’t give me palpitations every time he receives a backpass.

I don't think Bournemouth will be like Fulham, Everton, or Palace where they will sit and defend. They'll come at us. Need our wingers to be aggressive here and need an effective build up to deal with their press.
