Is that true is or is their gaffe copying Arteta talking about an injury crisis when only a couple of players miss out? Regardless of injuries their manager has his style and I expect they stick to it.
January 14, 20251 yr If we lose it won't be Maresca's fault but as usual the poor performance of our backline.

If that is accurate then no excuses - we should be beating them comfortably and putting the poor run behind us. Bournemouth have been punching above their weight this season but I will be disappointed if we don't beat then by at least two tonight. They can't play Kepa (not sure if that's a good or a bad thing), and we have a good, fit squad to pick from. IF Jackson starts, let's hope he has his scoring boots on but if he is as woeful as he has been of late, Maresca MUST act early and hook him. Come on The Chels................!
January 14, 20251 yr My guess: GK: Sanchez RB: Gusto RCB: Acheampong LCB: Colwill LB: Cucurella CDM: Caceido CDM: Fernandes CAM: Palmer RW: Neto LW: Sancho CF: Jackson I can't see James or Lavia starting based on their 45 minutes against Morecambe (though I imagine both would be serious contenders to come on second half). I don't believe Enzo Maresca will generally play Palmer and Felix together unless it's against smaller opposition as neither is as good defensively (pressing) and neither will hold the width (meaning whatever side their own will need the overlapping wingbacks Maresca generally doesn't like using). As for Josh Acheampong, the fact he was left out against Morecambe really strongly suggests to me he's going to start here.

January 14, 20251 yr I think this could be our biggest game of the season to date. To use Yanky terms, to snap our run of bad results. Need everyone on it tonight.
January 14, 20251 yr Unless I've missed it I can't see this has been mentioned but here in the Uk the game is live on TNT Sport 3. Let's hope we can get back to winning ways in the league but Bournemouth are a decent side.
January 14, 20251 yr Off to the game in a while. Will take a hip flask of rum just in case it turns cold. Only right and proper that I share it with those I go to the games with. Hopefully I'll be able to get into the ground. Come on Chelsea!

January 14, 20251 yr Damn thought I’d got a ticket for this but turns out it was to see Tim Key instead…

The second halves were prime Poch team talks with how much our levels dropped, looked more akin to the end of Potter/Lamps cartaker team that did not care.
January 14, 20251 yr Chelsea: Sanchez; Caicedo, Acheampong, Colwill, Cucurella; Lavia, Fernandez (c); Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson Substitutes: Jorgensen, James, Gusto, Tosin, Veiga, Neto, Joao Felix, Nkunku, Guiu
January 14, 20251 yr Author Hmm Veiga and Nkunku allowed on the bench despite both "agreeing terms" with other clubs...
