AND the process begins, you had these sets of fans on red cafe when I was searching through their thread, even after the Rashford shirt incident and the social media posts calling for the managers head.

You can have an absolute parasite (and a garbage footballer to boot), so long as they’re technically signed for your club, you back them.

The manager can’t be that clueless, as he doesn’t rate Garnacho, 1 point to the baldy right there in itself.

Think we'll see quite a bit of him tbh, just think he's getting up to speed physically and fitness wise as not sure about his situation with United. Unless Maresca didnt want him or gittens and is using george to make the point... as a striker... which is beyond my comprehension.

For the record i like george and playing up top is a waste of him as I think he's better than both gittens and nacho. ANyhow. going back to mute mode and see how the week unfolds.

I thought he looked quite lively last night. Got on the end of the cross that led to the own goal, and he had his moments. A high and wide shot and there was a pass he could have made to a teammate in a better position, but apart from those negatives he was decent. Bare minimum I know, especially at this level, but I do think he'll improve at Chelsea. How much he'll improve, I'm not sure. Maybe a little, maybe a lot, but hopefully a lot.

He did OK overall and his cross did cause the OG and won us the three points, so there's that, but I'm still not understanding why we were apparently so determined to sign him. I currently rate him above Gittens, though, who still looked to be trying too hard to impress (and failing) when he came on.

I've always liked him when I've watched United 😁

Does count as an assist doesn't it - the ball across the goal they tried to defend and Rios put in his own net ?

Pity he wasn't used against United, imho.

People were banging on about a "touchline winger" but he really doesn't seem that type of player. He prefers to cut in and shoot from what I've seen of him. Total opposite to Mudryk for e.g.

It's a start, I thought he was decent, but that selfish streak he has needs to be coached out of him, when he decided to shoot and nearly kicked it out of the stadium instead of passing it just reminded me of why I wasn't keen on him in the first place.

I thought that he wasn't very good, better than Gittens, but not very good. He got the goal, though, so I guess that's a positive. But my god, that much money wasted on two sh*t LW.

So in addition to the 11 minutes he played against Brentford, the 22 minutes he played against Bayern and the massive 59 minutes he played when he made his first start against Lincoln in "The Carabao Cup" he's played, wait for it, the grand sum of 160 minutes football - in the previous 4 months. That is the equivalent of a whole 1 and 2/3 games - and you and a couple of other numpties on here have already decided to write him off - crazy.

I really do feel Neto is a much better threat for us on the right. When we do have Palmer I can see why we put Neto on the left as he does that role better than Cole or Estevao do.

We really need Garnacho to step uup and make the left his own.

Neto is a really good player and I was very positively surprising with his signing considering what the club normally goes after.

I feel there is a contradiction, or at least some confusion as to how much of Maresca's system affects the attacking play. Personally I feel that Garnacho has just arrived and probably does not know enough about the system to start just yet. That's absolutely understandable and common place when taking in new players, esp if they are 21yo.
I'm referring less to the creative part of the game, and more about D as well as helping up in the middle of the pitch, btw.

A what? Wasn’t he in Wolves for 5yrs and no top club attempted to sign him. 8 games into the season in the PL & CL, and he has 1 solitary goal + assist contribution. I will be shocked if he beats last season 4 goals + 6 assists in the PL. He is a road runner; and will be at best a rotation piece in a top club, but here we are.

Its weird because Neto's ego is as big as Garnacho's, but he never gets called out on it. He drags every shot wide when there's space for a pass and he's the first one to moan at a team mate when a pass doesn't come to him right away. £60M, insane.

just an off the wall bit of irrelevance .. he contributed to the goal mid week v benfica and put a few crosses into the penalty area, and he might actually be a useful squad player.
