Yes, but to say Everton were never going to score just isn't true. Not with our defence, not with how many mistakes we make under pressure.

What mistakes? The only thing that springs to mind is Lavia losing it in midfield but he was probably knackered.

Everton don’t even concede a lot, and anything Everton could’ve nicked we easily could add 2-3 goals on our front. It’s pointless.

We just don't create chances. Jackson's goal was as the result of an everton f**k up, we had a couple of madueke efforts after he dribbled, and the disallowed goal for offside. When do we ever create chances out of good team play and movement?

Chalobah made Everton lose the ball for the goal. It was was a good tackle IE a turnover.

Not very often - the build up is too slow - BUS IS PARKED - just a sh*t way to play IMHO - GEORGE IS PARKED on the bench for that idiot Jackson.

Might beat Utd, but I think if Liverpool win the league this weekend, they might ease off and we might steal a point together with a point against Forest and Newcastle if Newcastle have already secured a CL spot. I still think we finish 6th or 7th we just threw so many easy points away during the season so we can only blame ourselves......and certainly the manager with his poor team selection and tactics.

7th seems likely to me. Villa are a good side.

Pool celebrate the title with a win, we lose at Newcastle as we always lose there, draw with united, lose to Forest.

A big win.

Hopefully Liverpool win the title this weekend and drop off by 10% next Sunday, which might be enough to earn us a draw.

Not the greatest performance but a win is a win.

I hear people say about managing the game but personally when teams open up to try and get an equalizer I'd like to see us pick off teams better rather than hanging on for dear life.

Liverpool and Arsenal would cut you open and get that all important 2nd goal when the game opens up, for me that is something we should work on.

Anyway, let's hope 2 league wins on the bounce can give us the confidence needed to fight until the end.

The chance they had where Sanchez made a great save near the end was from two big mistakes. We let Alcaraz free to get a cross in and nobody was picking up McNeil.

Did you also not notice how we were losing the ball at every opportunity? Aren't those mistakes? The entire 2nd half was awful, and I could see Everton grabbing an equaliser if it went on longer.

Pros. 3 points. Jacko made 10 and it counted. Clean sheet. Safe hands Sanchez saves the 🤡’s blushes today.

Cons. We have in the squad 2 potentially world class prospects both stifled by the 🤡 Reece out of position just glad to get game time , Palmer looks lost. Same tactics by the 🤡 didn’t concede today luckily.

Still can’t see past 6th place based upon what I saw today, it was a slight improvement in the first half but attackers can’t make the final ball time after time, didn’t see a hungry motivated team up for CL spot, but mostly more of the same stuff we’ve suffered watched since January, especially the 2nd half, under pressure at the death to a lower placed team again.

We literally created the 3rd most chances in the league. We’ve also created the 5th most chances out of all the Top 5 leagues in Europe.

So we’re progressing under Maresca and should keep him for the next season, right?

This was the game in hand on City and Villa.

Give us slightly increased chances of making 6th. City had won the midweek game and Newcastle beat Ipswich so is as you were with them and over to Forest.

I believe we created just as many chances under Poch

So, we’re ok under Maresca, aren’t we? Otherwise, I’m not sure why these stats come out every now and again. All I know is that we play a very turgid, boring football, and under Poch I wasn’t enjoying myself either in most of the games. So, what are we supposed to do with the stats? That’s what the SDs are probably looking at and thinking that we’re alright and don’t need much tweaking, and thinking that they don’t know why supporters complain.

Forgot this one was an early kick off so missed the entire game.

A very welcome 3 points but sounds like we made hard work of it as usual.

Probably need to win 3 out of the last 4 to get CL ?

Tough ask, but not impossible ... Liverpool being hopefully on the beach next week will help !

Oh, and Sanchez is top of the stats list in Europe but I do certainly want a proper keeper on goal and I don’t care what the stats say.

I actually enjoyed the performance. Had we been clinical this could’ve ended 3 or 4-0.

But this is what we needed. Palmer has become a net negative, and Jackson will be Jackson, so our wingers and everyone else needs to step up.

Overall I thought it was a decent performance. Nothing exceptional but through my blue tinted glasses I saw more in the way of effort and attacking intent than I've seen for some time and as usual Pickford played a blinder against us and kept the score down. Credit where it's due I thought Sanchez made some crucial saves as well today.

It's as well we got these 3 points today because from our remaing games I think the best we can hope for is a potential 3 points from Man Utd and that's about it. Probably just as well because I don't think this team are anyhere near CL level yet.

In the meantime I'll continue to support them, criticise when I think it's justified/deserved but will never sink to the level of some of the dogs abuse being bandied about here towards some of our players. I thought we were better than that but apparently not it would seem 🙁.

Did anyone else feel a bit nervous when he brought James on to "play in midfield" ?

I was nervous for the whole game!😀

So yes!😀😀
