July 3, 20251 yr Unfortunately Lavia hasn't been seen in the last 3 public training sessions . It is obvious he is injured. Will be interesting to see who partners Reece james in midfield.
July 3, 20251 yr These are the apparent unavailable players, and at the risk of getting slaughtered on here again- the weather forecast for Saturday at 9pm is hot but the thunderstorms have stopped until next Tuesday so hopefully we get an uninterrupted match. This game I suspect may be the most challenging of the tourney, of course now we see a path to the final it would be a bummer if we get KO, but that would help paradoxically with prep for next season so a win win ? 6pm KO again for me here in Sunny LA
July 3, 20251 yr It is reported on Twitter that Neto will not play cos he is grieving over Jota. No Neto and no Caicedo, our two best players in this tournament.

July 4, 20251 yr 6 minutes ago, Ukraine Bolt said:Our football is boring. It is subjective like everything in life, but the vast majority will say its boring.Jose and Pep are both notorious for speaking their mind and not peddling the opinion of the club, what sport have you watched for the past two decades? If they aren't getting the squad they want they'll be the first to say it.Yes, he's a lap dog. We've covered this already and we know. Still doesn't change the point I've made several times about him mis-profiling players that you avoid every time. You're just lying at this point. One single example being Chalobah, he said he can't play his style and has to go then brings him back and he's one of our best CB's. How is this not a contradiction? Said GK position is up for grabs then refused to drop Sanchez. Said GK would be dropped if they went long then kept Sanchez as number 1 even though he keeps going long and keeps passing to the opposition. Said Petrovic can't play out from the back, went on to be one of the best ball playing keepers in Europe. Says Santos needs to learn his style but players others that don't know it.These are contradictions.Pep and Jose are in the position of saying so and both are a bit old school. Not the way this club wants to operate. At least all the communication suggests this. Lap dog. That is your assumption. If he talks the sh*te with (inside) the club and doesn't bring it to media is probably pretty good way to go. This could suggest his line of communication with the club is good - your assumption is he is a lap dog. I see Enzo being a team player and assertive from the time he's been here. On Chalobah: every article I read and found on that says the club sees Chalobah is not fit for Marescas system. I haven't found one thing that says Enzo saying that. He had host of defenders to choose from and Trevoh was not the best fit according to the club. Chalobah then himself have performed very well under Maresca's coaching. Hats off to Trevoh...by the club I suggest means directors, Enzo and his coaching staff. I hope they all work together and converse these things together. On Sanchez case he is in a bit of a hole. Sanchez is a massive liability as we all know which Enzo knows as well but his only other choice is young Jorgensen. When Jorgensen had his chance he wasn't performing any better. Sanchez still was the safer bet. Now here I think there could be some tension between Enzo and Roberts or they have decided to give the say on keepers to Roberts. I am 100% sure Enzo is not completely satisified with Sanchez but why on earth would he say that to the media or the fans. His job is to make improve players he has not make them worse. Even now Enzo has said in the media he is very satisfied with the keepers he has but we are still looking at keepers as the reports have shown. Again he doesn't need to communicate possible tensions inside the club to outside. On Petrovic. At the time the decision was made to send out Petrovic he was probably not on a good level to play from the back so that is why they opted on Sanchez. I think they might have made a mistake there but again it was probably at least 50-50. And if Roberts have backed Sanchez,m Enzo listened to his word. BUT if Petrovic comes back to Prem to another club we will see whether he is the ball playing keeper he was at Strasbourg. And I like Petrovic very much. I personally think we should make him our number 1 keeper and get rid of Sanchez. On Santos. First of all he is 20 and playing the same position Maresca himself played so I am sure he wants to protect and make sure he succeeds. Midfield position is much more crucial and displays the errors much more clear than attacking positions so if he just threw in Andrey he might risk him losing his confidence. I am sure Enzo loves to have such a brilliant talent in him. This coming game we'll see whether Santos gets a chance. I doubt it though. Lavia and Caicedo are out of the game.Again on what Enzo says: he says things to media, to fans, speaks his own ideas, the clubs ideas and his main thing is to present the club in the best possible way in these pressers. It is very tricky sometimes but I think he's done a very good job in that.
July 4, 20251 yr Looking like we might be a bit thin on the ground in midfield and on the wings. Makes it a bit more of a level playing field.

You change your opinion to suit as much as Maresca! go look at early days Pep at Barca and Jose at Benfica/Leiria, they've always been like that. Confident in their ability and unafraid to say to say what they really think. On Chalobah. So this just further proves my point that Maresca is a lapdog for the club. Why on earth is the club deciding on who suits the managers play style and why is Maresca not speaking up on it? Are Enzo and the club in perfect harmony and open communication or is Maresca a lapdog? You keep flip flapping between the two opinions. On Sanchez, Jorgensen got MOTM v Heidenheim making 7 saves inside the box, preventing 2.18 xG and keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win. This was at a time when Sanchez was making mistakes almost every week. Do you know how Maresca praised him for the performance? Back to the bench for the next PL game. He doesn't have to publicly call out Sanchez, but he can at least show faith in other keepers. Gave Petrovic no chance and Jorgensen barely got a chance. Lets see how this season goes. On Petrovic, goes back to my point about Enzo being a lapdog. Petrovic displaced Sanchez the year before and our performances and results skyrocketed after. He should be able to speak for himself and see Sanchez wasn't the right choice and Petrovic could clearly play out from the back. You don't learn to play out from the back in your 20's after one pre-season. On Andrey, i would say being completely left out over players like Essugo is more damaging to your confidence after returning from the season he's had. On the media thing i wholeheartedly disagree, i think he contradicts himself often to the point i feel like he'd be better sending an intermediary.

If my english is unclear I apologise, not my native language. It is the 1-2% they have earned or taken re Jose and Pep. Otherwise they eat the food the club gives them. I am 100% sure Jose and Pep never and not one coach has ever spoken the ultimate truth in pressers..maybe Conte (Spurs) a couple of times, maybe Jose (MU) but that was when they knew they were probably facing the sack. Football coach is not an authoritan leader nor speak their mind 100% in a presser because why the hell would you. Team and its managers is a very complex system and involves around 100 people. I still say Enzo's been very consistent with the story he's told. I have absolutely no problems with them nor do I find him to be a liar or bullsh*t artist nor a politician. Not in the slightest. Again lapdog is your assesment and you can keep it no problem but again mate, loose a bit of the black and white. There are other colors in the spectrum especially when there are people involved. On Chalobah. So you think Enzo or any coach is a an authoritan leader? Like North Korea? They have large teams. I really really hope they talk and have different views on players. Enzo has the ultimate responsibility so he needs to choose wisely all the time. He takes all the heat if he decides to listen to Robertson for example. This is also something experience will bring. You start to know who to trust and what to do in every situation. Enzo is very inexperienced. On Petrovic. That was decided before we started the competitive season. At that very point Petrovic looked and was 100% more uneasy with the ball distributing. Sanchez is not that bad in it but he has these amazing brainfarts which makes it intolerable to watch. Sanchez knows how to look calm with the ball. If you look at Hermansen at Leicester you see he is similar with the ball in his feet. Petrovic loves to be around the goal itself rather than get involved in the play. Enzo loves a keeper that can get involved in the buildup. Neither to me are probably good enough for the job but I personally rate Petrovic higher overall from the two. Hopefully we find a good solution for this season. On Santos. I am not with Santos every day so I can't say but I think a humiliating start for him in an important game could hurt him. Remember what happened with Caicedo at first in Chesea. Rocky start to say the least. I would love him to play but I also understand why he is not started. On media. I have no problem with his pressers nor do I think he is inconsistent or anything really you have said on him. I guess when you detest or hate him you see the negative side on that as well.

Head coach wasn't even a role back then, the manager had the ultimate say on everything short of the owner. You may have no issue with the web of lies Maresca spins, but 95% of the forum can see it, do you not think you should perhaps open your eyes slightly? The irony of you saying not everything is black and white, then going on to put sprinkles on every turd. We're two sides of the same coin here, whatever you think of me you have to look inwards and realise you're the exact same.Yesm Maresca is very inexperienced. Whoever decided to put him in charge of a 1.5B super team has questions to answer. I remember last summer Maresca saying he had spent his entire summer watching every one of our games from the previous couple of years. If after that he still listens to advice and makes the wrong decision then thats on him. Every single fan could see Chalobah was forced out for potential pure profit, but Maresca came out and said he couldn't play his style. Weird.Sanchez actually went long more often than Petrovic did under Poch so its weird Maresca's choice to play out was Sanchez. Especially when Petrovic completed more short passes with better passing accuracy per 90 than Sanchez. Once again, more waffle. Would this rocky start not also ruin essugo? Or Sarr? Surely this barren run for Delap must been breaking him? Like i said, excuses that contradict what we see. I've gave you multiple examples of his pressers and you ignore them every time and go off on a tangent and talk about something else to avoid the point.

I am not anti Maresca but it’s soooooo obvious that he is a “Yes” man. They got rid of Poch because he was not a “Yes” man. Poch wanted to keep Chalobah and Petrovic (and Gallagher) and the team was on the up. Clearlake wants rid. Poch is out because he is standing up for his beliefs enter Maresca “I do whatever you want Clearlake”. This is probably due to Maresca not having a top CV and thinking how lucky he is at getting the Chelsea job. We can see that someone like Chalobah fits Maresca’s system. Good on the ball, can play as a wide centre back in a back 3 when the full back is inverting etc but he was shipped out because “he can’t play the system”. No, he was shipped out hoping for eventual pure profit. The “can’t play the system” is Maresca trying to save face and not looking weak to the media and us etc. Maresca has been told who the club wants to get rid of, nothing to do with “the system”, it’s the money. With these owners, we probably need a “Yes” man and Maresca appears to be fine with it so good. But the fans who think Maresca has a big say on who to keep are kidding themselves. I am sure, if he really had the choice he would want to keep Petrovic, Chalobah, Chilwell (particularly as we have no back up left back) but as Clearlake want them gone, Maresca spins the “can’t play the system”. But the players who clearly can’t play the system, Gusto, Badiashille, nothing from Maresca as Clearlake doesn’t want to sell.Others, with hardly any training with Maresca are getting minutes in front of Santos. This is why a lot of us are thinking that Clearlake have already made their mind up and he is a goner (we are also fearing another Salah or KDB type sale). I’m hoping this is not the case but it wouldn’t surprise me.Maresca is the perfect manager for Clearlake. I wouldn’t be surprised that if Clearlake decided to cash in on Palmer, and Maresca was not onboard with this, Maresca would also spin this as “Palmer doesn’t fit how he wants to play” and point out his drop off in goals.
