The United match, I was not confident about it, but not for footballing reasons. We could be on a 50 match winning streak and would still manage to f**k things up against them. It's just life.

Now the Liverpool match. We are not looking good, but they are not either. They have been second best all season and saved by black magic moments times and times again.

Pack the midfield with Caicedo, Enzo and Lavia. On the wings Pedro Neto and Estevao. Up front Joao Pedro.

Can definitely see us score a few times, just need a top day from our defence.

Slott has never lost 3 in a row with Liverpool

It doesnt look good for us, no defence and no proper striker (because Maresca is under strict orders not to play Guiu)

We'll go into this as big underdogs and rightly so. We have multiple injury issues and a weakened team. We have our best attacking/creative player out. Arguably our best defender is out for the season. We have other key players carrying knocks who may or may not play depending how they feel going into the weekend. Liverpool have a potent attack and losing to Galatasaray doesn't mean anything because Liverpool have a lot of quality in that team to punish mistakes we make, and we have been making mistakes. It'll either be a high scoring game where Liverpool beat us by at least a 2 goal margin, or we turn up and Liverpool don't turn up, but still ends in a draw. I just don't see us winning the game.

At this point i have no idea who is fit and who isn't. I'd like to see Acheampong play, but i don't think he will. James could also go into midfield, who knows anymore.

I hope this is treated as an important game by Maresca. If we win we would be looking far more promising for a top four finish. Defeat whilst not unexpected would likely leave us somewhat detached from the leaders. We need our best players starting, this isnt the time for rest or rotation. Liverpool have been poor to average all season but very very lucky. Last two games their luck seems to have run out. I hope we go for them from the off.

Best way to play that is with Reece at rcb and neto at wing back, imo.

Even a draw would be embarrassing for Liverpool. Our central defence is a joke, our attack has disappeared without Cole and caicedo is playing through an injury and not 100%

And that is all without mentioned our terrible goal keepers.

I'd sure like it if we were just down Sanchez and Fofana while Joao Pedro was 50/50 and they came Here with no Salah, No Isak, Gravenberch playing on pain killers and VVD, Gomez and Loneli injured and Konate suspended.

Not ideal but nothing that other managers haven't had to deal with in recent times. Potter, Poch and Howe have all had bigger injury lists than that.

It will give Pepilini a chance to start Reece James. Or will he?
