Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*

Thing is, the early spell of good form we saw under Rosenior isn't any different to what we are seeing now. We just aren't scoring goals.

Brentford, Napoli, Pafos, West Ham, Wolves, Leeds, Burnley, etc all gave us scares considering how open we play under Rosenior. We didn't lose any game, but it was evident that the moment we play a decent side that could actually put away chances, its over.

Considering that most of what comes out of Jason Cundy's mouth is stool water, the comment he made that from the 73rd minute against PSG away, we have conceded 10 goals without reply in just over 3 matches, pretty much rubberstamps Rosenior's defensive structure and tactical shortcomings.

If we're backing the manager then we need to get rid of the toxic players that have clearly downed tools because of their Maresca fetish.

Get to summer and Neto, Enzo and Cucurella the first out the door.

Hate to agree with this but you’re right.

Neto is an abysmal footballer, should’ve never been signed in the first place, if you’re dipping into the Wolves Portuguese contingent he was bottom of the list. His presence also seems to negatively impact Palmers game.

Enzo just isn’t good enough for Premier League football. If we can catch a decent fee and ship him to La Liga/Serie A I think all parties are winning.

Cucurella, when you take away that purple patch of scoring, is actually a pretty suspect defender. Have preferred Hato there recently if not just for the lack of arm flailing and moaning.

Would be happy to see the back of all 3 come the summer, the attitude of these ‘senior’ players under LR has been embarrassing to say the least. From the outside it seems an ego clash of not being told what to do by someone who was never at the top of the game.

Toxic players. Okay. The most toxic appears to the 'arm waving' Garnacho. His very signing was toxic.

Neto, Enzo, Cuucrella are perhaps our most experienced players and they are used to managers who know what they are doing (world cup winning managers, Euro winning managers, etc). When you know - you know instantly - Liam is like a PE teacher suddenly at a level where he is clueless.

Lomba averages more scowls and arm throws per 90 then passes. Enzo has conned his way to cult status by arguing with a few ex players without ever having meaningful impact on Chelsea games. Cucurella deceived us while Maresca built his attack around him. Ur is still the limited footballer he was when we signed him.

Open your eyes, you will see the truth.

We are 5 points from bottom half, with this remaining fixture list.

City, United, Brighton (A), Forest, Liverpool (A), Spurs, Sunderland (A).

Would that constitute as "almighty collapse" then?

You would have thought recent results and the manner of the defeats might have put us in this category. We need this fella gone he adds nothing, and without him we are not weaker.

This!
I already thought Enzo Maresca was a gamble—honestly a downgrade on Mauricio Pochettino, even if the club wanted a different style of play.
I didn’t think it was possible to go a step further down at this level, but appointing Liam Rosenior somehow manages it...
Say what you will, but this leadership sure has talent!

Blame some of these players who are used to real managers, who now only get to talk to one during international breaks does not seem fair. I'd want to move too.

Maybe he can pass a few of his paper notes to Estevao—just leave them blank so Ancelotti can fill them in later. 😅

On a serious note, I do wonder how current and potential signings view Chelsea right now.

Big clubs come with certain baseline expectations—elite facilities, proven coaching structures, and a manager with top-level pedigree.

And players talk a lot—especially during international breaks. I wouldn’t be surprised if these conversations turned into soft inquiries on behalf of other clubs or managers.

I reckon 3 points out of the remaining games…

I genuinely don't believe his job is as safe as they claim. They said the same thing about Maresca and Potter, and they both got the sack. He's probably safe until the end of the season since there is no point in sacking him. However, I genuinely believe if he doesn't get Champions League, we are going to get the whole "parting ways" message again.

We are a London based club with 4th highest wage in the league. So we are still a very desirable destination.

The big different is that we are not paying fabregas/Hazard level salary.

Exactly. Who the hell else would pay Gittens, Mudryk or Garnacho a reported 100k/week??

Bear in mind that Maresca wasn't sacked over performance. He played politics -v- the owners and lost. He wanted out anyway.

You didn't get a pay off. He wins.

Weren't there reports about Maresca not getting a pay off because he'd breached a contract clause about talking to other teams, or something like that?

I think you're right. They came to an agreement to call it quits. Don't tell @Nibs.

Liam is already giving us those AVB vibes. There is no need to prolong this. Sure, keep him until the end of the season, but not beyond that. These players need a manager they can respect. I know Liam is a nice bloke and he was nominated for the EFL Championship Manager of the Season award in 2024. But is the coach for top flight football?

Our Brazilian players should keep the notes that Liam gives them and when they are on international duty with Carlo they can ask him what they mean.

We need a grown up in charge of the coaching. Our yank owners/sporting directors love spending money - but until they spend some money on bringing in a top level coach they are merely p1ssing in the wind.

Apparently the Garnacho note was to tell Caicedo to move to RB after Trev was carted off.

LR wont fall into that trap, all of his conversations and negotiations with Doncaster Rovers, Rotherham and Torquay will be in the strictest of confidence, totally hush hush.👍

Unless you're Geordie born and bred

Hot take: the government should issue stay at home travel orders through the courts and stop geordies migrating south or, we should set up quarantine zones around most northern cities. Id even go so far as to firebomb Manchester and carpet bomb leeds and Liverpool. Will they be missed.

I'll always want us to win no matter what, but in the long ruin we could almost do with missing out on CL football. These pricks thought they could turn up, but a load of 20 year olds, appoint sh*t managers and have that CL money roll in while challenging for things. Missing out on the CL this season should warrant a huge rethink in strategy, not winning stuff won't do it but losing out on millions might do the trick. After 4 years surely Clearlake can't be happy with what's happening on and off the field.

I honestly believe that it's because of Clearlake that we are in this position. . If Chelsea lose out on revenue because of no CL , our investors don't lose any money, .

PL clubs don't actually make any money ( apart from 2 or 3?? ) . It's the increasing value of the PL and PL clubs that they are banking on ..
