Which players should we keep?

Featured Replies

GK: no one - they're all crap

Defenders: Reece James, Colwill, Sarr, Chalobah, Acheampong, Hato

Midfield: Caicedo, Lavia, Essugo, Santos

Attack: Palmer, Estevao, J.Pedro, N.Jackson

I'm not going to include Derry and the likes as he's more an academy player than 1st team, however he should be kept around. I wouldn't be totally against keeping Gittens as i can't see us recouping anywhere close to what we paid so may as well give him some time. Defence is crying out for some leadership, RJ and Colwill are the only ones actually good enough right now to start for us. Hato, Sarr and Josh all look good for the future and Trev needs to be 3rd/4th choice. Midfield we're crying out for some creativity. We're fine with holding mids, but we need someone in Enzo's role that can actually run and take a man on. Also need loads of wingers.

We have wingers. Clarification: we need good wingers.

Never, in my history of supporting CFC, have I ever seen us have such an "unlikeable" group of players. I honestly wouldn't care if we sold the lot of them and started again.

That's possibly a bit harsh on a few of them and the players that haven't been playing much earn bonus points - the likes of Colwill, Hato and Acheampong (would keep them).

I just hope that whoever we get as the next coach can sort things out and make me actually a like a few of the players again, like Poch was able to do.

I think a lot will WANT to leave anyway, and a contract means sweet fa (so sad being legal and binding) Only Reece will want to stay caicedo as well, keep Lavia Colwill Estevao Palmer Enzo Cucarella , we have NO INCENTIVE WHAT SO EVER NOW NOTHING! NISH! to hold on to our " good average players now" thank you blue co,unts for absolutely nothing you waste of good air, you should give every season ticket holder there doe back! after wasting 1.8 billion grrrrr

You could make a pool as it'd be easier to see which ones we want to keep, but it's kinda clear there are only 6-7 players that should be around the 1st team and the rest are expendable at best.

Reece, Josh, Colwill, Hato, Caicedo, João Pedro, Estevão, Derry and motivated/fit Palmer. If stretching a bit: Essugo, Santos, Cucu, Sarr.

There might be a few others we could keep as 'squad' players. We will probably have to keep more players - like Cucurella, Santos, Lavia, etc. Maybe We shouldn't have too many changes all at once? But none of us are particularly attached to any of these players - apart from the ones you've mentioned.

Of course the bigger problem as always is the dumb kunts who are the owners, sporting directors and coach.

In an ideal world, I'd keep:

Sanchez (as nr 2, if we gamble on Penders. If not, buy a 1.choice)

Penders

James

Acheampong

Colwill

Chalobah

Hato

Cucurella (just about)

Caicedo

Lavia

Santos

Estevao

Quenda

Palmer

Pedro

Emegha

Thats quite the clearout, and as a bare minimum we'd have to either promote from the academy or buy:

a right back

a centre back

a central midfielder

an attacking midfielder

two left wingers

a striker

We have no money and a lot of the players we'd like to sell will probably give us a net loss

Yep, we're in trouble!

What about Washington, Kellyman, Paez, Ansilmino come on shout them out if you can even remember some of the names.

How many millions on players who never even pulled on a shirt for us. Let alone the dross that currently make up half the squad. How are people not fired already?

Real Madrid: Valverde taken to hospital after incident wi...

An incident involving team-mates Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni threatens to overshadow one of Real Madrid's biggest matches of the season.

This is what we need. Players fighting. Setting their stall out. Reece James dragging Gargasho out to the car park and shoeing the sh*t out of him. A group of players holding down Cucufella in the changing room, getting out the clippers and giving him a short back and sides. Our French Black players torching Enzo's car and putting a "Falkland Islands Are English" stick on his locker. When Wacko Jacko returns getting a name plate made for him and fixing it to the sub's bench right at the back.

Get 'em frightend. Get 'em angry. Get 'em fighting.

That is what I can’t wrap my head around. A normal business would have brought in external consultants at some point before blowing through £1b to advise on what was going wrong, instead we have brought in a random bloke to manage a £b football club

Reckon that the number of departures will be directly proportional to the number of acquisitions available during the transfer window; if we are considering quality over quality focusing on specific positions, then I don't see how a big roster revamp can be even possible.

We don't need to sell everyone.

Let's just look at winger situation. ( I have never watched Quenda so I can't comment and we need to wait to see what will happen to Estevao)

Garnacho is not great but as 4th winger he is fine. Gittens is extremely raw but as 4/5th winger he is fine. Neto is absolutely fine as 3rd winger.

The key is we need that 1st and 2nd option. This what we need but all us know we will get some 18 years old instead.

There is a dearth of good wingers, and the arms race by PL clubs for No 9s also means there are none on the market. In a market where Anthony Gordon is valued at €90m, I would be cautious about spending big money on a winger. We have no European football next season, and can’t even spend big so we need to be prudent. Sell Garnacho, Gittens has lost a season so I would sell also and include buybacks + sell on clauses in case they come good. You then have Quenda, Estevao & Neto. Mitoma has 1yr left, so a £40m deal will do. I will also try getting Harry Wilson as a free agent. You add experience without breaking the bank. Granted they are not top quality options, they allow you to give quality mins to Quenda & Estevao. I will also fast track Eboue into the first team to avoid another Ngumoha situation, and loan out Derry to Lamps.

No thanks. He had a purple patch which ended as quickly as it started. Good Championship level player.

For someone who constantly reminds us of PSGs wages what club has a 4th choice winger earning £120-160kpw?

My frustration really comes from the fact the players just havent looked like theyve cared since Maresca walked.

Even worse is our form, it is bottom 3 material. We are showing Burnley form.

I think even when we were bad and had the "rats" we didnt look as lethargic as we do currently. I blame the slump on the players even if LR was a super gash manager.

Really disappointed with the players, seriously underwellimng and hence why i dont really care who leaves this summer.

Hang on; who is their 4th choice winger on £120k-£160k/w? They have 4 wingers in Kvaratskhelia, Doue, Barcola, Kang-in Lee with youth player Mbaye stepping in. It’s on Kvaeatskhelia that is on €350k/w/w which includes performance bonuses, and remember he was on €250k/w at Napoli. Barcola & Doue are on €130k/w, & 4th choice Kang-in Lee is on €90k/w.

What they have done brilliantly is having a quality and compact 18 first team players, supplemented by 6-7 youth products. In contrast we have 26 and Josh.

Vitinha has spent most of the season injured, Mayulu & Zaire have benefited with game time even though they play a 4-4-3-3 with Neves & Ruiz the only senior options. You had Maresca saying he needed another CB when Colwill was injured, but he had 6 CBs to choose from for 2 places.

This is a very important point. Whenever I watch PSG at pretty much any point in the season they have almost a full team to choose from. A lack of intensity in their league, accommodation made by their league administrators, it all adds up to them being able to manage their squad far better than any of the top quality English sides, or us come to that.
