I suppose the question is who would replace him as a starter? Toney is also on the older side, and Watkins has not convinced for England. Or do England consider going with more of a false 9?

Speaking of false 9s, Liam Delap is English, but we could lose him to Ireland if we don't lock him in to England.

Its not the defeat to Argentina that has me so bitter, its the way we lost it entirely on their terms.

The way we played that game - our game management - was atrocious. I cannot get over it. We brought on defenders to park the bus and it was the short bus of ideas - the short bus with all the retarded kids on it [sorry - i meant "challenged" or something polite]. We were so close and if we had a proper manager and if we had brought on Saka and Cole Palmer - maybe Trent? Foden? Players who actually like to play football - players who are not ball adverse. sigh. shakes head.

we finished 3rd which was much better than i thought we would do - but still.

Christ! The Trump has dementia rumours seem more plausible everytime he opens his gob. But what is Infantino's excuse? Also read an article that said Dodgy Gianni has amassed a personal fortune of around $20 million and were asking questions about where it all came from.

So how does this work for celebrities, they have their agent ring the Fifa office to beg for tickets, you know, the good ones where the camera can spot them?

I would imagine the opposite - the FIFA give tickets out to get the celebrities in certain seats in the ground.

Which ones to pick, are there lists of celebs that understand the concept of soccer, perhaps even enjoy it? We're all at least E-list celebrities, or @dermott is with his status as writer of tv shows, why don't we ever get tickets? The Chelsea Pensioners get tickets! I'm the youngest of 4 girls, I was in the bloody wars!

I don't think they have to sit a test or anything they just have to be recognisable and accompanied with a gorgeous bit of totty.

Will you be watching the 30 mins half time show?

I am watching the BBC and i don't think they are showing the 'show'

Absolutely not. I can't stand these show thingies, never watch opening or closing ceremonies for the Olympics either.

Working tomorrow, it's almost 10pm, so time to turn in. I'll find out the result tomorrow. Let it be Spain, please football gods.
