Anderson Rodgers Wharton and Rice and maybe Scott are all very good players, not world class but very good, probably the best English players available. We ought to have one or two of them.

I’d throw Palmer into that group also - needs another good season.

Not to digress, but the truly world class English player is Bellingham, and you can see his level is different from all the above.

Zero excuses from anyone, especially Palmer who had the whole summer off to sort himself out. One game a week, under Alonso, who is a specialist in studying league opposition.

I need Poch levels of Palmer back, and I need everyone else to work their socks off for 90 mins every matchweek.

Yeah but Bellingham is a SS at this point, that's a hard position to build around imo

The humility is misplaced. Wharton, Rice, Anderson and Bellingham walk into any national team in the world, including France. England's defenders and attackers walk into every other team bar France.

Not really.

Bellingham, Kane, rice are wc. Saka is very good. Rashford depend on what version you get can be wc.

I barely watched Anderson so no clue.

“Morgan Rogers acknowledges he will have to adapt to a new system as Villa under Emery was all about transitions, whereas at Chelsea he will need to be more patient to get the ball and it will be about tight spaces”

That is a worry for me. We have seen 3 wingers in Neto, Garnacho & Gittens come from transitional teams and struggled against a low block.

Anderson is a rolls royce player, he bossed the WC stats in most areas. Argentina crudely targeted him first 45 mins till he picked up a card and had to ease off the pressssss. A more capable Makalele is my take on him. Be interesting to see how Maresca deploys him, I think when Maresca implements his system, Harland and a number of creative players will be will be wanting out.

I'd have Saka in our squad tomorrow. He's so one skilled and so good at it, he's a bit like Arjen Robbin who had the chop. anyhow. One week to see how we get on.

Thought he did really well for his 1st match for us.

Scoring on your debut takes any added pressure off as well.

I really like this attitude as well, always aware of other players around him and genuinely happy for Cole Palmer when he scored and in the TV interview afterwards.

No ego there at all.

He’s gonna be a top player for us.

Very good debut. Nice to get the goal and off the mark on day one. His work rate was particularly impressive, and the physicality does make a difference. Connection with Pedro and Palmer seems pretty natural also.

Lost his man on the equalizer, but 3 others were also at fault there so can look past that on game one.

Excited to see what he brings as he settles.
