Last Movie You Watched

Featured Replies

I go to the cinema fairly regularly but can't remember a single film I've seen this year other than Spectre.  Will have to go and have a look to see what I've watched.

Edit - Okay I've looked and tend to agree it hasn't been a vintage year but I thought Suffragette, The Woman in Gold and Far From the Madding Crowd were all good, had a decent plot and didn't drag at any time, so on that basis would, in my eyes, be a better film than one that does.

But I have no idea what dictates getting a nomination.  I have always found that book and film awards are often given to films that appeal to up-their-own-arses critics as "well-written" (for books) or that look stunning and have good cinematography (for films) rather than have a good story that I'm interested in.

Leo pulled a lot of good faces, that all I remember haha.

Hardy only has about 20 lines in the whole film!

if your definition of good acting is in how much lines a character got well..

i understand you and chelsbear ganging up to make my opinion look bad so im going to stop here, to each it's each own i guess

Mate your opinion is yours, mine is mine and Chelsbear's is his own. No one is ganging up.... could it just be that some of us have a similar opinion on a film we all watched?

Dont take it so personally, are you Leo?

:)

lol nope, well sorry if i perceived it that way

Finally watched Goodfellas last night - I am currently undecided about it. Does anyone have a better opinion on this?

Not seen it in years but I always remember being impressed with it. I might give it another view now.

I actually hope Leo does get an Oscar but that's because I think he was robbed in previous years!

I'm a lone wolf, no gang for me!

Loan bear more appropriate in this discussion!

I like Leo a lot, fantastic actor and hope he would get an Oscar too, just think he's made looooads of better movies where he could have gotten at least one !

Yeah he's not had much luck so maybe this is his time...would be ironic when it's his most underwhelming performance in his nominations lol.

I still don't quite know how they never got hypothermia in that film (the characters)!

What the f**k? I thought we were brethren, Ploks.

Goodfellas is my favourite film of all time. I don't see what there is to be undecided about.

The performances from Liotta, Pesci and De Niro are fantastic.

It's funny, violent, has a brilliant soundtrack and has some of the most iconic scenes in cinema in it; the "funny how? Like a clown, I amuse you?" scene and that tracking shot following Henry and Karen into the Copacobana.

A modern classic.

What's not to like? I must have watched it 20+ times

Think the last one I watched was that Black Mass, gangster film with Jonny Depp.

Any Good? Hardly ever go to cinema these days but was going to go to that with the Mrs but by the time we got around to it it wasn't on anymore where we live!

Like most films now, will wait for it to come on Sky.

I heard Black Mass wasnt very good, I havent seen it yet but the trailer looked promising

That's a bit of a mixed message - you're no Barry Norman Zola!!

I thought Sicario was the best film last year. It was fantastic, really well written.

have you seen enemy? brilliant film

villeneuve is the modern david fincher

I don't like gangster stuff, so wasn't to my tastes.

I thought David Fincher was the modern David Fincher. You make him sound like he's ancient... :happy001:

Haha, you know what I mean!

I saw the trailer, thought "Ohh I am gonna have to watch that, Depp looks crazy"..... then 2 people told me it was a bit sh*t, so I didnt bother watching it..... I will some day though!

Just not for everyone perhaps, I thought it was tremendous of course but ever so slightly preferred the Godfather.
