Last Movie You Watched

Featured Replies

my friend went to the bvs la premiere yesterday and he said it was awesome, better than the dark knight (im gonna take this with a pinch of salt because he's such a superman nerd)

cant wait to see it on wednesday

Das Boot. The uncut version which lasts four and a half hours. A brilliant film about a German U-Boat, It's a few years since I last watched it and had forgotten how good it is. Conveys the horrors and claustrophobia and sometimes boredom of serving in a submarine. The book by Lothar-Gunther Buchheim from which the film was adapted is also very good.

Everyone how watch the preview of sausage party on YouTube, one very strange animated film coming out soon ha ha...

Went to see La isla mínima (Marshlands) today. It's a Spanish crime movie. It wasn't bad, but it was more like a long episode of a television series rather than a movie. Some nice cinematography, but the plot wasn't all that.

Unfortunately Pixar will never beat its first creation, Toy Story.

Toy Story is not their first creation and to me it's not even the best Toy Story movie.

It is for me, the sequels are good, but not as good as the original.

I think the second one is one of those rare sequels that are better than the original. The third one? Not so much.

The original Toy Story was their first full length feature, which most people regard as their first creation.

Considering that they'd been nominated twice and won an Oscar before Toy Story was released, most people are wrong. :happy001:

It would be almost like saying that Aardman Animation's first creation was Chicken Run.

London Has Fallen.

1/10 and I don't even know where that 1 came from. Worst movie I've seen at the cinema (well, tied with Paul Bart: Mall Cop), do not see it people, atrocious.

I'm glad I'm justified in not watching it, a friend wanted to go watch it but we're seeing Ten Cloverfield Lane instead, which at least looks half decent.

Yeah they had Oscar nominated short productions that won too no doubt. Oh I get you now, you wanted us to be impressed and in awe of you and your vast knowledge of animated movies.

You probably need to get out more if you think it's as funny as you make out too.

We get it, you find it hilarious to the point you're rolling around in hysterics that people would think Toy Story was Pixar's first creation.

The laughing emoticon was there to signify that I wasn't entirely serious with the "most people are wrong" bit.

That wasn't my intention at all. I'm not here to score points. More like chat about movies. Well, I'm mostly here to chat about Chelsea, but not in this thread.

And to this one... I'd just like to refer to my answer to Gem above.

You both are interpreting it as a malicious post when none was intended.

I took the emoticon the wrong way it seems. Apologies for biting ever so slightly. :-)

Haha indeed, I believe I have just saved you a couple of hours of your life, you're welcome ;-) . I intend to see Cloverfield so perhaps you could return the favour and let me know if it's worth seeing!

Finally got round to watching the new star wars, really enjoyed it too, much more like the original trilogy.

Watched deadpool too, bloody brilliant film, proper laughed a lot at it.

I thought the story was a bit too much like the original trilogy. I'm hoping it gets more interesting in the next one. This one felt a bit too much like a prologue.

I agree, felt like a re-boot of sorts in places. Can't wait for 'Rougue One', apparently Vader will be heavily featured and acting pretty violent.

Went to see High Rise last night, an adaptation of JG Ballard's novel directed by Ben Wheatley. The reviews have been very mixed but I thought it was excellent and actually enjoyed it more than the book.

Another film I saw recently was The Assassin. It's one of those arty martial-arts films in the vein of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and while I generally like this sort of thing The Assassin was one of the dullest films I've seen for a long time. Lot's of long lingering shots of people sitting around looking contemplative and very few fights. It's a very beautiful looking film though.
