Suffice it to say this thread's gone bonkers in the last few pages. :laugh2:

In nearly 24 years living in Australia I've yet to happen across any snakes, cane toads (odd you'd never heard of them by the way, FC), man-eating kangaroos, rotting kookaburras in garages or anything of the kind. Obviously more big spiders here but it's nothing unmanageable - I can't recall seeing a hunstman or a red-back for some time. I'd sooner fret over the intolerable (at times) climate!

I live in Adelaide though, can't speak for Victoria or Queensland where the other users here live, I think.

Those cane toads are just outrageous.  I couldn't believe how big they get.

Seriously Australia.  What the f**k?

Twins have run in my family for generations, I have a twin Brother & we have a twin Brother & Sister my mother was one of two sets of twins & my Father is a twin,

my wife is a twin but they are the first twins in their family so it was inevitable that we would have twins,

No split, two sets of twin Daughters, I have two young boys but they are not twins, 3 & 5 years old.

Twins ran in my wife's family and they were all joking some more were due in the family when my wife got pregnant. First scan and there's baby in her little space, oh hang in is that another space above? Cue my arse falling out. Turns out there was 2 really early on but one never got going. Actually felt quite sad at that news.

In fairness, they're not really Australian....

We were just stupid enough to bring them here.

Sorry to hear that DKW. As scary as the thought of twins is, it must have been sad news.

I was actually relieved at first, then the more I thought about it I got quite upset, so did my wife. But these things happen for a reason, considering the problems we had with Emily I dread to think how bad it might have been if there were two in there.

What about Perth, have they any really nasty creatures I should know about, We are thinking of emigrating, either Australia or New Zealand.

Sorry mate, can't help you much there although a fear of dangerous animals is hardly reason enough to stop you moving here.

Lofty can answer for New Zealand!

All of our venomous creatures are located in a beehive in Wellington...

Can't say i've ever seen one bigger than 1/3 of that size, I think i'd sh*t myself if I got out of my car and stood on that.

Yes know quite a bit about NZ, have a brother who lives in Kaitaia, Great surfing up there & really beautiful beaches. looks likely NZ is where we will emigrate too.

Don't they say Aussies got all the sand & creatures but we got to live in Gods own garden?

True, everyone knows Bart Simpson is responsible.

:laugh2:

They were originally brought in in the 1930s from South America in an attempt to eradicate the cane beetle, and they pretty much began dispersing right from the off. They've now reached as far as Western Australia but thankfully they haven't gotten this far south yet.

Pity no one considered that the cane beetles actually live near the top of the crop stem, meaning they're out of reach of the toads who are supposed to eat them!

Are they the ones that you see pictures of thousands of them all over the roads and people just driving over the mass of them?

Every Aussie will be happy to know that the cane toad's conservation status is at "Least Concern"

I have actually only seen 2 cane toads at my house...I'm sure there have been plenty more, just not seen to me...

But I do remember staying at a mates house when I was about 12/13, and he had TONS of them. I should feel bad about what transpired that evening, but I don't. It involved golf clubs and cane toads (cane toads were being hit with golf clubs over their fence...in case I was being overly cryptic).

Thats pretty sick mate.

They had to get them away from their dogs....they just didn't go with a friendly approach.

Yeah I heard that's part of the issue.  They breed in plague numbers, eat everything and they're extremely poisonous to predators (which would include dogs), so nature can't even get rid of them.

How did the exes thread end up on toads?  Did someone bring up Benitez?

Gallas basically admitted he was a c**t on national TV.

So normal service resumed then.

And millions of Chelsea fans went "We Know, you c**t."

From this interview: http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/perthglory/news-display/GALLAS-INTERVIEW-EXCLUSIVE-TRANSCRIPT/77789

Daniel Garb: William – you have a bit of a reputation as an outspoken player. Someone who’s not afraid to share their opinion in the changing rooms and maybe that’s got you in to trouble a couple of times. Is that true, is that a true reflection of who you are?

William Gallas: You know what – I was not the troubled player. People have to understand that. I was not the troubled player – I was one of the guys who was not afraid to said what was wrong. Sometimes in football, people do not like to hear so that is my personality but I will go to my new club and see how the people, so I won’t go there straight away to said that was wrong, no, no, I just go there, like I said, to play football, to go on the pitch, to have a good communication with my team mate and that’s it, so maybe after we’ll see what happens.

And then this gem just after:

Daniel Garb: William – your time in the Premier League was such a successful one. You played for three of the biggest clubs in the league – Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham. You won titles. What memory stands out the most for you for your time in England?

William Gallas: I will say Chelsea. When I was with Chelsea because I won some trophies there. The squad was amazing, we had a great manager, a manager who has lot of personality, who is very strong. For him, it was very important to be 100% at training so you can imagine if you train very well on Saturday then you would be ready for your game so that was very important for us. The people at Chelsea was great so for me, Chelsea was the club I can’t forget, but after, like you said, I played for Arsenal and Tottenham and it was different but I didn’t have any problem with them. Always I tried to give one hundred per cent on the pitch. It’s true, I had a little problem with the players of Arsenal but the people know why. At this time it was about respect but now everything is behind me so I’m looking forward and for me is to be with my new team.

Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu has been banned from playing for Romania ever again after posting an uncomplimentary photoshopped image of coach Victor Piturca on his Facebook page.

The 34-year-old, who is no stranger to controversy, quickly removed the image which showed the head of British comedy character Mr Bean on the body of Piturca.

However, the damage had already been done, and the Romania FA have now sent a letter to Mutu informing him that he will not be called up for the national team for future fixtures, according to the Metro.

Mutu, who now plies his trade for Ligue 1 outfit Ajaccio, was reacting after being left out of the Romania squad for the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Greece.

Romania lost the two-legged tie, but it now seems certain that Mutu will not be involved during the country's Euro 2016 qualification campaign.

The veteran striker joined Chelsea in 2003 from Parma, but was sacked by the club after failing a drugs test in October 2004.
