Good luck to Jimmy Floyd! Loved him as a player and I hope he's success as a new manager.

Yes Eidur is a free agent at the present time. He was training with Bolton to maintain his fitness a few days ago.

Avram Grant is set to be named Ghana manager so long as they accept he won't be granted access to some Middle eastern countries due to his Isreali nationality.

Strange choice as Grant won't suit their style. Though he would bring a lot of professionalism and off the pitch organisation to the team. Something that can make a massive difference to talented African teams (well all teams actually, but it's a game changer for African teams, case point Nigeria).

Must have earned over £20m in pay offs by now. Nice work if you can get it.

I suppose we get a bit more panicky about being sacked from our jobs than he does :-)

I loved him as a Chelsea player but never forgave him after the way he celebrated after scoring against us for Barca

I don't think he over did it to be honest. Sure he celebrated but not to the magnitude of what Adebayor did against Arsenal when he was playing for Man City. Even Eidur said that he struggled to celebrate Barcelona's lucky win when they defeated us in controversial circumstances in the 2009 UCL semi final tie.

Ba won't play v spurs tonight through injury, but just worth noting he has scored 16 goals in 18 for besiktas this season..yes it's a weaker league but that is some return and just adds more fuel to the fire that he should have played more for us, but politics with Torres got in the way...obviously will always be a chelsea legend for making one of the biggest contributions without actually winning a trophy

Looks Like Steve Clarke is going to become Reading's manager.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30499446

Championship side Reading are set to appoint former West Bromwich Albion head coach Steve Clarke as their new manager.

Clarke, 51, will replace Nigel Adkins, who was sacked on Monday following Saturday's 6-1 defeat by Birmingham.

The ex-Chelsea assistant boss has been out of work since leaving West Brom almost exactly 12 months ago.

Reading, who have lost nine of their last 15 matches in all competitions, are 16th in the Championship table.

The Royals won four of their first seven league matches this term but Adkins came under increasing pressure during a poor run of form, culminating in a heavy defeat at St Andrew's on Saturday.

Clarke took over at The Hawthorns in June 2012, replacing Roy Hodgson at the Black Country club following the 67-year-old's appointment as England manager.

It was the Scot's first managerial role, having previously been assistant boss at Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool.

Clarke's appointment is expected to be announced on Tuesday in time for him to be in place for Saturday's visit of Watford.

A Thai consortium took Reading over in September after former owner Anton Zingarevich left the club in June 2014.

As a Reading local I think Steve Clarke will be an interesting appointment. I'm keen to see if he'll sign any Chelsea kids on loan.

As the U21's and U18's sometimes train at Aldershot (which is about 45 mins away) you do see the youth teams hanging around the Reading area. They stand out a bit as they always wear matching Chelsea FC tracksuits!

I wouldnt be surprised if in Jan he asked for a player on loan from us. Kalas or someone like that. Depends what he thinks he needs when he reviews his squad.

Looks like George Weah has just been elected to the Liberian senate by an overwhelming margin:

Montserrado, Done Deal for Weah

In Liberia’s most populous county there is no way out for other candidates as George Weah of the Congress for Democratic Change has won by a wide margin and he can now safely celebrate his first legislative job. For about nine years now, beginning 2005, the retired soccer legend has been struggling to get an elective post until the senatorial election which has now provided him the opportunity to do so. Provisional results indicate that Weah is in the lead with more than 90% as opposed to his nearest rival Sirleaf, who is around less than 9% of the votes.

One of Weah’s opponents, Benjamin Sanvee, gracious in defeat, wrote on his Facebook wall on Sunday:

“I just placed a call to my friend Amb. George Weah congratulating him on getting elected as senator of Montserrado County. It was a hard fought campaign and I respect the decision and the will of the people. I will deliver a formal concession speech in 24hrs. –brs”.

Read on a Dutch news site that Zola has been announced as the new manager of Cagliari. Once again, he's coming home :-)

Has it been announced yet that Frank is staying at City for the rest of the season, like we all know he will?
