I am seeing rumours of Diogo Costa (GK) linked to City. I am surprised we are looking at the likes of Kobel when this guy could be on the market. If we are intent on not keeping Petrovic (which may be the situation) then why don't we test the waters for Costa.

While I agree and think he is far more suited to Maresca's tactics there's just no reason for him to join us over other clubs linked to him.

What is interesting about this one is how complicated the deal would be. As we all know our owners like to 'wheel and deal' in the transfer market in ways that English people simply just wouldn't understand. . . so, we are going to buy Sancho [as we are required to do so] and then loan or sell him to Dortmund as part of the deal to get Gittens.

He does seem like he is, however he's right footed. Behind the striker the options we will have are palmer, quenda, estevao, Neto, Madueke, Sancho and mudryk. Apart from the last 2 who we don’t know the future of all these players are left footed so the only thing I would say he has over Madueke is better squad balance.

Less polished? Not going to pretend to be a Dortmund expert but from games I've seen in CL he's far better technically with his passing, shooting, dribbling, etc. He just does stupid things is all. If that can be coached out of him he would be a better version of Madueke.

Agree our targets are very mid. Gittens is overrated, and way behind our current options development wise. You just hope they don’t sign Granacho especially with Utd demanding £65m.

The only impressive LW we could potentially buy but I seen zero links is Alex Baena at Villarreal. He has created the most chances in La Liga, and is currently leading the most key passes in Europe this season. He also has a €60m release clause, and Atletico Madrid are an interested party.

You would need to be desperate to sign him for that fee. Shades of Hojlund pre-United and that hasn’t worked out.

Sesko has never hit 20 league goals, and just might hit 15 league goals this season. You take out the Bundesliga tax, & he is a 10 league goal a season player.

He may not even be a 10 league goal player, just look at Werner.

I like his profile and think he can only get better, but at that price its a hard pass.

 

My favourite silly rumour of the day - big news is that Aston Villa do not want to lose £90m-rated midfielder Morgan Rogers [22] who is attracting the interest of Chelsea . . .who is rating him at 90 million quid???!!?  Although it does sound like our kind of price. We should get involved in a bidding war here.
