Branthwaite typically plays on the left side. Am i missing something but why aren't we looking for a right sided CB?

He's supposed to be a top class player, flippin LCB.

It really doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things

Easy wins for me would have been getting Jonathan Tah and Branthwaite for a 30m fee/swap with Fofana.

Easy improvements and calms the backline instantly

Branthwaite would be an outstanding signing, he's everything were missing in our defence.

Tah has signed for Bayern.

Club is been weird arranging pre-agreement with any Strasbourg player linked with a move to a PL rival. They pulled the same with Mamadou Sarr and have been vague with a contract status. These guys are at least 3yrs of constant football away from competing for us. In Sarr’s case there is a rumour that he will be loaned back to Strasbourg, which is just silly as he will be taking up an international loan space.

Probably all part of the creative accountancy model !

Rumours are we're after TWO new strikers! Could this be a main expensive striker like this Ekitike fellow and a cheap Delap like striker or could we really go all out and bring in a Ekitike and Sesko, or a Gyokeres and Sesko? Surely if we buy two promising strikers at least one will turn out to be okay, won't they?

Just feels like with CL football this summer could be an extravagant spending spree. The fact we most likely losing Nkunku and Felix and never managed to bag a striker in January two strikers might not be too far from possible.

I suspect that one will be to hopefully take Jackson's spot, and the other will be the one I posted above.

The reason we are doing these types of signings from Strasbourg is simple, money and loan slots. We buy him now when his value is low and have a pre-agreement for 2026. This allows us to keep him at Strasbourg without keeping one of our loan slots occupied. Now to the money. If we buy him now, we have bought him at current value. Next year, it is very likely his value will have increased therefore we have bought him on a cheap compared to buying him when his value is high. If it does not work out, we can flip him for a small profit. If it works out, well we have a good striker for very cheap. This is a win-win for us, not so much for Strasbourg money wise, however they do keep him for another year. He has been great for them and will be playing in Europe this year.

Very smart by BlueCo and I am the last one to give them praise, however they deserve it here. Not breaking rules and not really anyway to enforce us from not doing these sorts of deals with our sister clubs.

Delap won’t move here to play backup to another striker. He can move to an Everton or Utd and play regularly as a starter.

Whoever we sign, I just want a proper striker that is selfish and actually wants to put the ball in the net. None of this “false 9”, “off the striker” type of player. We tried it and it’s not gong to work.

If we’re serious about champions league, then we need proper players. We all saw how Villa and Newcastle dropped off once they started playing twice a week in big competitions

They'll only be playing in Europe if they win their play off game
