Please elaborate

Because CBs in general don't need to be super accurate passers. They should be just technical enough to keep calm under pressure.

It's really not a tough ask to have a slightly usable weaker foot considering it's their job to play football

I would argue a CB does need to be accurate, a wayward pass out from the back and the opposition are likely one on one.

Its not just the passing out from the back either, as someone with a lot of experience at CB the side you play on can make a big difference to how comfortable you are going into tackles etc.

Sir, this is the year 2025, not 2005.

But I'm also old enough to appreciate a no-nonsense CB.

From a technical point you're right but it's not really a huge transfer of skillset. This isn't like asking a rocket scientist to perform brain surgery, it's transitioning a player to be accustomed to a position played literally next to each other

Nkunku plays next to the striker, doesn't mean he's good at ST. Its just a risk for such a high value transfer. Sign a specialist for the role you want.

That's not really the same though, both CBs play similar roles, occupying different spaces. Yes, both roles are different in the fact that they have different assignments but ultimately their job is protecting the area in front of the goal up to a certain distance. Tactically, both CBs have rigid-ish roles

Strikers and forwards play differently based on what's required, team composition, opponent's quirk and tendencies etc. Can't really compare SS and STs with RCBs and LCBs.

I do agree with your point about putting specialists in roles they are suited for.

I’m hearing Delap is a done deal. Ipswich want Guiu on loan as part of the deal.

We are going back in for Murillo but don’t want to pay the £80 million Forest want.

We are going to trigger the Sancho signing but only if he lowers his wage demands.

We are still very interested in Nico O’Reilly and the player wants guarantees from City on his playing time and position before he commits. Bayern also interested.

No goalkeeper currently on our radar.

I’m also told one of our untouchables wants out but it isn’t Cole Palmer. No other info was forthcoming.

That would fit with the rumours that Enzo Fernandez has already agreed personal terms with Real Madrid !

If so, let's use him to get Rodrygo. If I keep saying it do you think it might happen? No, you're probably right.

Oh I like the sound of this :

He'd be a huge upgrade on our left wing !!

Rodrygo on the left, Palmer on the right. We need a 10 behind Delap to let Palmer take the right.

Having Estevão and Cole switching roles down the right/middle and Rodrygo on the left, plus our new striker(s) and our midfield-attack is as strong as any imo.
If Estevão can replicate what he does here in Brazil and Andrey what he seems to be doing at Strasbourg that is...

Caicedo - Lavia/Andrey Santos

Estevão/Palmer - Palmer/Estevão - Rodrygo

Gyokeres/Delap

Didn't they promise Estevao Willian a go at #10 ?

Sorted !

Especially if we have Carney Chukwuemeka back as the rotation/bench option !

Morgan Rogers from cash strapped Villa. Disasi the other way to sweeten the pill

Rogers is another one from the Manchester City 20/21 U21 side that Maresca managed.

Also James Trafford, who just set some goalkeeping records in the Championship with Burnley

We SHOULD be all over this.

He is going to be worth 80m next year or two years time.

Will they make the same mistake twice in a span of 2 years? I think it's highly unlikely since Savinho didn't pan out as well as they thought. Would be a major steal at that price though.

I don't see the point of Rogers. Apparently the club are interested in Gittens anyway.

I am not seeing the comparisons, sorry

I think the conversation was about using Fernandez as a trade for Rodrygo. Who would we get then in the 10 and Rogers looks ideal, especially as he can also cover in wide areas if needed, rather than being an out and out wide players.

I asked the same question and @Sexyfootball said that Estevao was told that he could play in that position, and we’ve got Chuckwemeka coming back too. Rodrygo on the left, Palmer on the right and Estevao through the middle. But, I haven’t seen any serious reports about us being going for Rodrygo.

I have a feeling that Chukwuemeka will form part of a deal for us to get Gittens.
