Grimaldo will be 31 in Sept, and has played his whole career in Benfica and Germany. Easy to stand out in a Bundesliga with their high line, I don’t think our lot are crazy. Most likely going to end up in Serie A if he is after a move.
June 9Jun 9 Can’t believe Real have bid €150million for Alvarez. A player I really like but no way I’d even bid €100 million for him. Reports now saying they do want Enzo. Hopefully Athleti continue to say no re Alvarez and Real end up spunking at least £100 million on Enzo instead.

Hopefully Athleti continue to say no re Alvarez and Real end up spunking at least £100 million on Enzo instead. That is Perez just keeping his election promise about a €150m bid, they don’t really want him. Where are they going to stick Mbappe? Even if hypothetically they sold Vini Jnr, they are more likely to sign a LW than a CF.Enzo is a low priority for Madrid, and I don’t think Jose wants him.“There have been a lot of midfielders linked to Real Madrid recently, but the NUMBER ONE option for José Mourinho is Mateus Fernandes. He believes Mateus has BOTH quality and a spirit of sacrifice for the team, which José considers VERY important.Jorge Mendes is PERSONALLY WORKING ON TAKING HIM TO REAL MADRID. José has BLIND FAITH in Mateus Fernandes, and believes his potential is INCREDIBLY HIGH.”Would be hilarious if they signed a relegated midfielder ahead of Enzo. The fee for both players is ridiculous but Mateus Fernandes has the positional discipline to sit deep in midfield. Enzo will be a nightmare in that Madrid side. Edited June 9Jun 9 by markpitts
June 9Jun 9 Joe, please, just shut up. Don't give them ideas. I cannot have one of my most disliked footballers playing for Chelsea. Sterling was bad enough.

His output is comparable to Enzo's this season,Wasnt a bad signing... Agree Grimaldo wouldnt be a good signing.

He's still one of the best that England has. However for much the same reasons as Sterling, I wouldn't take him because he's so burned out as a footballer at the top level, he is not the right person to lead a room full of younger players. The situation at Barcelona suited him, where he is a talented cog in a bigger machine, but he is not expected to be a leader or the go-to guy. We need our experienced players to be our most consistent and our best players.
June 10Jun 10 These days average players cost a bomb, the quality is surely regressing but the price keeps inflating. It's difficult to get excited in the transfer windows there days because of the bad stocks and inflated price.

June 10Jun 10 (rumour) The plan is that we lower our price for Fernandez, whilst still getting a book profit, and he goes to Madrid. In return, all be it as a technically separate deal, we then sign Güler from Madrid for below what would usually be their asking price, but still a profit for them. Güler gets a reunion with Xabi Alonso and a prominent role in the Chelsea team. Arda Guler [21] is an attacking midfielder and he might even be a GT.

June 10Jun 10 A CB, a LWB, Rogers & Guler is just fine by me as a transfer window.Hope the Rashfood & Vlahovic rumours remain just that, don’t want either of those anywhere near the club.Having the attacking flexibility of mixing and matching Palmer, Estevao, JP, Rogers, Guler with some proper wingbacks in play à la Leverkusen we’ll be a real force.

How would that work? I think when you look at the depth of say Man City you could say it does work. Get the best players you can get. I have no idea about the specificity - it is only a rumour at this point.

I feel like the guy has lost interest in football a la Sterling. He's always been a fair weather player only playing well when it suits him. If we are to buy more experienced players we need players who our young lads can look up to not someone who will hide when the going gets tough.

June 11Jun 11 Rashford has apparently played 492 senior career games, which is close enough to the fabled 500-game wall to put me off. He's an exceptional footballer though.

The guy had 8 goals and 7 assists in a Barca side where Raphinha was out injured for 4 months, and stilled ended the season with 13 goals and 3 assists playing the same role. He is on £325k/w, wouldn’t touch him even as a free transfer.
