July 17, 201412 yr Because Roman is linked to Putin Great! My trades already went south with today's incident. I sure hope it doesn't carry over to football!
July 17, 201412 yr Some prominent Russians have had their assets frozen, if they go further following today's atrocity then Abramovich could be targetted
July 17, 201412 yr Great! My trades already went south with today's incident. I sure hope it doesn't carry over to football! Good buying opportunity for RSX and RSXJ developing. Nothing wrong with the companies themselves, just the sanctions which will eventually be lifted. And what is it about Malaysian Airlines always crashing this year? They fly a passenger jet over a warzone, seriously? Seems risky. Edited July 17, 201412 yr by dcmining
July 17, 201412 yr Not sure how this Russia/Ukraine nightmare will evolve, but I can see it having serious implications for Chelsea. not really, tightening the purse just means we will finally start developing and using the many young players we have.

Not sure on the Russian etfs but for me I need the shorts in TSLA to begin realizing its oversold and start buying back in. It will happen because they won't want to carry short through the earnings call. Down a few points entering in on yesterdays low at the market close but hate holding this thing through the weekend. It is too volatile and things can sour real quick. Today was all noise just like last Thursday with the Portuguese bank.
July 17, 201412 yr I'm all for that, I really am. My concern is that I believe Roman converted his loans to the club into debt, and if his assets are frozen it may impact on the club.
July 18, 201412 yr I'm all for that, I really am. My concern is that I believe Roman converted his loans to the club into debt, and if his assets are frozen it may impact on the club. As Sydney says he did exactly the opposite of that, converting the debt into equity.

No idea where it will go in the next year but 5 years it will be a beast. Same with Bitcoin. Edited July 18, 201412 yr by dcmining
July 18, 201412 yr Mourinho, though, indicated the Blues' chequebook was closed. "I have to say my club did a fantastic job, and not just becaue of what we bought, but because we did it in almost record time. The transfer market closes 31 August and we close our market on July 19. We finished the market today," he said. "The club did fantastic, we knew the targets, we knew the players and the club attacked them and their clubs at a very early stage. "We got exactly what we need and what we want. The squad is one which I like very much and I look forward to starting the season." Mourinho added: "I dont think so (sign any more players). The market is open, but we are so happy with what we have. "We feel that our squad is what we want "We don't want a squad of only end products. We also want to bring to the first team, three or four under-21s, we are going to develop players and are happy with this balance we have." http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/transfer-window/jose-mourinho-i-convinced-cesc-fabregas-to-join-in-20-minutes-and-he-never-wanted-arsenal-return-30443271.html Edited July 18, 201412 yr by charierre
July 18, 201412 yr sounds like it unless Bamford is going to get called up to the first team squad and I just can't see that happening. Costa, Torres and Lukaku offer good options up front, they each have different strengths. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game just to see who features.
July 18, 201412 yr Agreed, Costa, Lukaku and Torres upfront No return for Tiago No move for Varane Just 6 weeks of rumours that such and such player is joining when we know it isn't so.
July 18, 201412 yr If the book is closed then that means Lukaku must be staying Only said really that we would not sign anyone else, not sell them.
July 18, 201412 yr I'd be more than happy going into the new season with the current squad. Intrigued where Romeu, van Ginkel and Mikel will all end up as all three of them can't stay as they essentially fulfill the same role. Be interesting to see Lukaku and Zouma start the season with us.
July 18, 201412 yr Only said really that we would not sign anyone else, not sell them. If he was sold or loaned that would leave us with only Costa and Torres up front. Unless Mourinho intends to us Schurrle or Salah as third choice strikers I can't see why we would limit our striking options.
July 18, 201412 yr I'm very happy with the current squad, although I wouldn't take mourinho's word that we are done for this summer. I'm sure if a player who Mourinho wants, suddenly comes available, im sure the club will move heaven and earth to bring them in.

As always, Jose's words should be taken with a somewhat large pinch of salt.

July 18, 201412 yr Given Jose's words...guess we are in for a blockbuster transfer...or closing up shop.... rumours in the Mail that Lukaku will be gone to Everton in 48 hours....I very much doubt it though unless its another loan they could hardly afford to buy him....I'd take Barklay in part exchange + cash though

Lukaku going to me would mean someone coming in, cant go into a season with Costa and Torres or even Bamford as 3rd choice. Mourinho will know this. I can see more business from us, although maybe a sell then replace method
