Not in my opinion. I couldn't see him leaving Bayern as a benchwarmer to do the same for us either.

True. Reus is a great player but I feel his biggest strengths are on the counter in space. His dribbling and shooting are great. Against packed deep defences I could see him having the same difficulties as Schurrle and Salah have had. Not to say he isn't three classes at least above them.

What has made Hazard and Mata before him so valuable was their ability against packed defences. Hazards tight control and acceleration and Matas vision and passing. We really could use another player of that ilk on the other side. Sadly Robben Bale, and Silva probably pull up the left footers with those abilities and we're not getting any of those.

I'm not sure Shaqiri has that either to be honest. But it's a fun hypothetical.

He hasn't had the chance at bayern. I know he's good for the national team, I have some Swiss mates and I remember them getting all excited about him in the world cup.

No question he doesn't have the first team time at Bayern. I still think, and my opinion rightly counts for f**k all, he has great potential and is worth a punt for the money.
