Why would you sell Ross Barkley for £20m and then drop £34m on Jack Cork?

Lewis Cook (future England captain?) at Bournemouth, Jack Cork lol

And in what universe would Real Madrid go anywhere near Willian?

Willian? If we sign Vazquez RM are short at RW and Willian was arguably MOTM v Barca? Rather sell him to RM than Man Utd even if it means we miss out on Martial tbh. Both players want regular first team action so it seems an amicable solution.

Out: Caballero (£1m/West Ham), Zappacosta (£17m/FC Porto), Alonso (£38m/PSG), Fabregas (£10m/Valencia), Willian (£40m/Real Madrid), Morata (£65m/Juventus), Barkley (£20m/Bournemouth), Batshuayi (£46m/BVB), Loftus-Cheek (loan/Palace), van Ginkel (£11m/PSV with buy option for Lozano), Moses (£12m/West Ham)
+£260m

Net profit +£23m

You have mentioned lewis cook in a few posts. He signed a new deal about 2 weeks ago, dont think he will move this summer, and im not sure he's better than what we have in our own setup.

£30m on a back up keeper, doesn't seem like the best use of funds.

Ndombele is an interesting player, pastors and higuian could be good signings all be it short term.

In terms of the out going, there's no way we will make a £7m profit on morata, and I'd be shocked to see psg pay anywhere near £38m for alonso.

Missed that tbh, for me he'd be a decent backup for Kante/Ndombele assuming we go with 4-3-3 next season. Not sure how good he'll become but I've seen enough to suggest he might go on to become the 'new Fabregas' in a few years. As he signed a new deal I wouldn't be against keeping Pasalic around for the Europa League campaign.

I agree but if Courtois leaves for free next summer we may be short a quality keeper. Whether he wants to sign as backup for a shot at Courtois' place is another thing. If not Butland maybe Nick Pope.

Vazquez too for me, Pastore is a quality #10 that would allow us to transition between 4-3-3/4-2-3-1, something we'll need to do next season if we're going to compete for top 4 imho. Can't see it happening, seems we're more likely to go for Seri (another potential donkey for me).

Tbh I just read a rumour that Juventus may be happy to swap Morata for Higuain (albeit Morata's fee will be amortised over the duration of his loan), we'd essentially break even (ish). Re Alonso, I think he's worth more than what we paid for him but as you say whether PSG (or Barca) pay anywhere near that is another thing. Even if we get £26m we'd still be running around break even in terms of net spend.

Re Barkley, we'd be lucky to get even that. I could see the logic of signing him to play in Conte's 3-5-1-1 but with a new manager incoming I think his squad place would be better occupied by Pastore/Mason Mount.

Considering us and Spurs were willing to pay £35m for him last summer with only a year left on his contract at Everton I find you assertion he is worth less than £20m now bizarre.

We don’t know what system the new manager will use but Barkley can play in a two or three man midfield, in the #10 role or even out wide if needed.

He’s certainly ahead of Mount who if he does return to Chelsea next season I would expect to be used in the Europa league matches but I’m not sure there’s room for him and RLC personally.

We'll have to agree to disagree, Barkley doesn't have the rigour, recovery or intelligence to play in a midfield 2 or out wide imho. Positionally yes he can play in the #10 role, but how good is he? My guess is turd, he lacks mobility and guile to be an effective #10 imho. The only position I've ever seen him be reasonably useful was when he played at #8 in a midfield 3 but even then he always had to something exceptional to justify his place in the team. He's the very definition of a luxury player and a sh*t one at that imho - Koeman knew it and promptly made it clear he didn't rate him, I don't see why we should personally. Spurs are welcome to him.

Why would anyone want us to sell Willian

Chelsea winger Willian revealed he 'dreams' of one day playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

The Catalan side pay a visit to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday in the last 16 of the Champions League but the Brazilian did not hold back in his praise for the Spanish giants.

'I think they are the two biggest clubs in the world, Real Madrid and Barcelona. They are the clubs with the most visibility,' Willian said in a Q&A with YouTube channel Resenha Delas.

While Jose Mourinho has taken a real interest in bringing him to Old Trafford as he looks to bolster his Manchester United squad, Willian's heart appears to be set on a move to La Liga.

'It's everyone's dream to play for these clubs,' he continued.

'Of course there are other great ones, like the one I play for, Chelsea, and PSG, other greats.

'But these two are different. These are two that everyone has the dream to play for.'

We've got a shed load of talent waiting for first team action from our youth team and loanees armies...RLC, Van Ginkel, Hudson Odoi, Kenedy, Abrahams, Mason Mount etc...how about appointing a manager who's prepared to play them...

Shame, but I'll be intersted in how Jorginho adapts to England. A midfield of De Bruyne, Silva and Jorginho feels a bit soft.

Personally I wonder whether his understudy Diawara, who we were linkrd to a couple of years back might be a better fit. He's not as good on the ball, but a bit quicker and more able to cover the defence duties.

Weigl is the other option that comes to mind as someone a bit more athletic but still a good player at building from the back. Be nice if he were considered as part of the Michy discussions.

The @ FC Bayern has placed four of his players with Vidal, Thiago, Bernat and Boateng on his internal sales list. With the right offer they are allowed to go. Whether it hits the right people, we're just discussinghttps: // m.facebook.com/login/?next=ht tps% 3A% 2F% 2Fm.facebook.com% 2Fgroups% 2FBayernInsider & refsrc = https% 3A% 2F% 2Fm.facebook.com% 2Fgroups% 2FBayernInsider & _rdr  ...

Zizou has called a press conference for midday...what do we think??

Hopefully he's stepping down, so the whole hazard wanting to play under his idol narrative is quashed.

Probably just announce he's staying long term though.

Looks like jorginho is city bound. Weigl would be a good alternative, or thiago but I doubt we could get him.

Cancelo - Azpi - Luiz - Emerson
               Thiago
         Kante - Pastore
 Vazquez - Higuain - Hazard

Not sure about that tbh, love the midfield, but that looks like a shaky defence, and im not sold Vazquez or higuain.

Well Zidane has quit.

Not sure who will take over, hopefully not another massive hazard fan like Wenger!

Liverpool summer spending over 100m, City looking like they're about to spend 100m on Mahrez and Jorginho. Chelsea dragging their heals. Echoes of last 2 years.

Forget spending money on Pastore and give that spot to RLC/Mount
