In addition for the first time in a long time there seems to be abundance of talent available this window, my preference would be for Lampard & co to go all out for Sancho, Mertens and Telles. Yes, I agree on the notion that this window is for us to construct the well oiled machine, the next summer is for the finishing touches. We've been in transition for long enough

May 4, 20206 yr Recent news say that Pedro is going to leave when his contract expires and Onana the keeper from Ajax might be our next signing.

May 13, 20206 yr With Ligue 1 suspended Lyon have unfortunately missed out on CL football for next season, this has meant Lyon may have to sell a few key players. Apparently we are interested (Alongside Arsenal & Spurs) in Depay, I have to say that I am a big fan of Memphis and would love for us to give the lad an opportunity. Willian & Pedro out and Memphis & Zyech in would be a massive upgrade, this would also mean that we have 2 experienced options for the wings alongside CHO & Pulisic. If we miss out on Sancho which I think is highly likely than Memphis would not be a bad alternative.
May 13, 20206 yr According to the Sun, Angel Gomes may be a Chelsea player next season, and on a free transfer too. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11612250/chelsea-landed-angel-gomes-man-utd-free/
May 13, 20206 yr Onana the keeper from Ajax is maybe going to AC Milan as they want a replacement for Donnarumma. If we were to sign Donnarumma I think he will be better than Kepa.

On top if it he has a lion tattoo on his back so he fits like a glove, 5 goals in CL in 5 games, 9 goals in 12 games in League 1? That sounds like he would solve our main problem.

Maybe it would turn out similar to Salah and he would be really very good this time around. He certainly fits the mold of the type of attacker we seem to be interested in due to the fact that he is versatile and can play multiple positions, like Werner.

May 14, 20206 yr Sky reporting that Juventus are after Jorginho and looking at a potential swap deal for Pjanić.
May 14, 20206 yr Sky reporting that Juventus are after Jorginho and looking at a potential swap deal for Pjanić.We don't need Pjanic. Would happily give them Jorginho for 45m and get a better replacement in Ndidi. Kante and Ndidi in the midfield will seriously improve us defensively considering all the easy goals we conceded this season especially at home against weaker teams that costs us maximum points. It also also automatically upgrades our midfield to one of the best in Europe regardless of who plays ahead of them between Mount and RLC. In a dreamworld, Debrune will be amazing.

Also haven't we learned our lesson with Kepa that playing out from the back is much lower on the list of keeping qualities than, you know, stopping shots... 47 minutes ago, Malcolm9 said: Sky reporting that Juventus are after Jorginho and looking at a potential swap deal for Pjanić. Juve seem to be shopping him around. He's one of my favourite players of the past decade and would be an improvement over Jorginho but he's sadly not got the pace to play that role for us. He could actually be just as slow as Jorginho. For me I'd be happy to send Jorginho to Juve as his replacement though. Even if we didnt bring in a replacement ourselves we'd still be a much more defensively sound team with Kante playing in his best position,or even Billy Gilmour. Konrad Laimer from Leipzig would be top of my wishlist to replace him. Solid on the ball, great defensively and another pressing machine. Kept the whole Spurs midfield in his pocket during their CL tie. Alas I suspect this is paper talk.

Nobody can bet on him being available for the top games that can define a season. And one thing I noticed this season is, once he is missing for a top game, you can never come up with a trio that will feels you with confidence when playing against a top team. The best we can come up with is Jorginho-Kovacic-Mount. You will agree that midfield can do the job against average teams. But against the top teams, that midfield will always struggle. We need a statement signing there!

We need a statement signing there! It's a very pourous midfield without Kante that's for sure. Its often made worse by our disorganised pressing. For me that is one thing that can't be discounted when we buy someone new. They have to be able to run and press. Energy is key. For me that is why Jorginho is expendable. He is a Cesc style turnstile in defence without his ability to ping passes and assists everywhere. We've got a lot of whole in our squad, with Ruben and Ampadu coming back and Gilmour emerging we might be okay for another year. As I said though Laimer would be a very shrewd signing, particularly if Kante has further injuries down the line.
May 14, 20206 yr Pjanic is a few years older than Jorginho, they are similar players in some areas but I don't see us gaining much in that trade overall. Pjanic is great at free kicks from what I've seen in the previous years and IMO he has better technique, while Jorginho is better at penalties and has better positioning. It looks like Sarri simply wants to get rid of Pjanic for some reason that isn't due to his football skills, maybe Ronaldo doesn't get along with him or something. Our midfield will be really solid once RLC comes back, Kante, RLC, Barkley and Mount can score goals and Billy, Kovacic and Jorginho can organize the team. Edited May 14, 20206 yr by Gol15
May 14, 20206 yr I saw online that Morata is set to sign for Atletico Madrid which would mean that our club gets over 45m and that PSG would like to sign Bakayoko which would further add 31m pounds to the club. Even if this means that we overall lost money for those two players, maybe the amount over 75m income could be used to secure a good striker or with additional funds to secure the Sancho transfer?
May 14, 20206 yr I really like Jorginho but moving forward I do see Kante, Kovacic, RLC, Mount, Gallagher & Gilmour as a nice mix in midfield.

Atletico is obligated to buy Morata, which has really benefitted us in light of the virus outbreak.
June 3, 20206 yr Ben Chilwell reportedly our Number one target now. I think we would all agree that left back is a priority area so that's definitely a positive, and chilwell is a fantastic player IMO with plenty of time on his side to improve further. Rumoured price tag of 85 million seems rather high though. Id think 40-60 would be the right ball park for him.

Just one match but I wasn't convinced. We need someone with grit. Alonso and Emerson lack of defending abilities. Alonso is a fantastic wingback in back-5 system and a major threat with his deadly shooting skills.
June 3, 20206 yr Bernadeschi for Jorginho doesn't make sense to me. I see Jorginho as one of our most important players. Bernadeschi is a in-and-out Juventus player and not a very young one. Making space for Gilmour and Ruben sort of makes sense. He could deputise Willian and Pedro.. Still. No for me.
