February 14, 20206 yr Rumours for Isco starting to appear again. Between us and Arsenal apparently. Can't see it happening after signing Ziyech, personally.

Isn’t the reported fee we can get him for something like €13m? At the very least, we could activate that and resell him for a nice profit, he’s easily worth double that.

EDIT: ignore me, thought we were on about Isco. Yeah Boga is cheap as chips. Edited February 14, 20206 yr by RIP Mourinho
February 15, 20206 yr With City possibly banned for 2 seasons from the CL maybe we should put in a cheeky bid to bring KDB back, he would be awesome in our midfield.

As long as he's healthy, KdB, an in form Kante with RLC/Kova/Jorgi to choose from, we'd have a great midfield selection again. Nice dream to have though

I don't believe it's going to be possible though. Him as a No. 10/SS would be amazing for us. With Ziyech n Pulisic, the dynamism of our team will terrorize opposition defences. Then you'd have CHO to sub for Pulisic n vice versa, the PL defences will sweat buckets every time we roll into town

Impossible. City outside of the CL is still more attractive than us sadly. Financially they're huge and they'll likely win everything domestically for the next two seasons.

I don't think they are though, we are still an attractive club plus being in London is a decision maker for a lot of players. City might be financially huge but they still have to conform with FFP like the rest of us. City's are losing David Silva after this season and Aguero isn't getting any younger, if Liverpool can keep their best players they are more likely to win more trophies over the next few seasons over City. If Pep leaves as well will the players want to stay; only time will tell. Edited February 17, 20206 yr by Malcolm9

If Pep leaves as well will the players want to stay; only time will tell. If the FFP is enforced properly it could be a game changer. I agree that London is probably a bigger draw for foreign players than Manchester as it has incredible diversity with foreign restaurants and cafes and also theatres etc. I noticed for the first time this year that Madrid were being careful not to buy anyone before they had sold players. So it will not only be about building a team that can challenge for top honours yet also one that has the revenue stream to offset the cost of player acquisitions and player salaries. Of course none of this will mean anything unless they also penalise the top European clubs like PSG for example. If they are serious will this new FFP environment scare away the big oligarch investors?
February 17, 20206 yr Does anyone else wonder why the UEFA elite of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus, have not yet fallen foul of the FFP Laws? I can't believe for one second that these Clubs have never transgressed, it seems to be only the English Clubs who "threaten" financially the ranks of the big 4 that get investigated. (expect the Scousers to be next) When you consider that Ronaldo, Messi, Mourinho and others have all been personally prosecuted for tax frauds or underpayments linked to image rights, surely the clubs that have allowed this to happen are also likely to be bending other rules of their own. Will they ever be investigated? highly improbable. City Fans feel persecuted by UEFA and I have some sympathy with them. They will now go to the CAS and firmly believe that they will be exonerated, so don't get too excited about KDB coming back to the Bridge and city sitting out the ECL for 2 seasons.

I can't see City having it completely reduced, maybe it will drop to one season at a minimum. I do agree though that UEFA have to punish any club involved in breaking FFP and not just the English clubs.
February 19, 20206 yr Lazio have made an offer to Giroud to join the club once his contract expires with us. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/olivier-giroud-chelsea-exit-nears-21521734
February 21, 20206 yr Inter interested in Alonso. https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/conte-doesn-t-give-up-on-chelsea-defender-for-june-inter-s-stanc-17178

March 5, 20206 yr Juventus management to test the possibility of leaving Barça. Ter Stegen thinks that there is a lack of commitment from some heavyweights of the Barca dressing room and that there is a lack of harmony in the team. i think we should be all over that if its true, maybe throw kepa into the mix as well.
March 5, 20206 yr Jude Bellingham looking like he’s going to Dortmund. I think it would be a good idea if we could hijack the move, Dortmund have the eye for young players and if he goes there, wouldn’t surprise me if he develops into one of the best, like Sancho.

And like almost every other young player they've signed in recent years. They really do have a talent for this

March 9, 20206 yr We should sign the Dortmund scouts and development team. They'd make us into the best youth development team in the world. As for transfers, with Ziyech coming in, and possibility of Telles. We need 2 world class CBs and a world class CF in Giroud's mould. If we can add a world class winger into the mix as bonus, it'd be exciting times. But to be realistic, I'd be happy if we add Telles, a world class experienced CB that can guide Christensen, Rudiger, Zouma and Tomori and a 24-27yrs old top class CF who hasn't peaked yet, that's good enough for me.
March 23, 20206 yr Being linked to Declan Rice in a move that can only be described as keeping Mason happy!
