OK Who was the first foreign national to both score and win a European competition with Chelsea?

Presumably this was a pre season tournament ?. It reminds me of a mate of mine (RIP) he was always coming out with trivia questions in the pub pre internet. He said '' Which fighter got put on his arse every fight he had but got up to win every single one of them ?''. Most of the pub were guessing including the know it alls who were quoting geezers pre second world war. After about an hour everyone had given up so we said ok you've got us stumped who was it ? my mate with a massive grin on his face took a deep drag of his ciggie took a massive swig of beer and said Popeye ?

Kevin Keegan, Ray Clemence and Ian Botham:biggrin: (cricket).

Botham played for Sc**thorpe in I think 1983.

I did some work in Sc**thorpe and managed to watch them play Leeds at Glanford Park, 91-92.

Its quite a rough town- all the local Herbert’s turned out for that one.

Also caught Hull v Millwall, and Grimsby v Spurs in the time I was there.

First football match I remember was 1975 cup final Fulham v West ham, I had just turned 6, first world cup I remember was Argentina 78. Spain 82 was first one with my figurine panni world cup sticker book.

Same here though I do remember Chelsea 1 Everton 1 coming through on teletext the season before which confirmed our relegation ?  Also watched the Leeds V Bayern European Cup Final,on TV,  went to my first live matches the following season first a game at Selhurst as my dad supported Palace then at Christmas my first glimpse of Chelsea at Orient (1-3) had turned 7 in the August.

Phil Priest remember that name in youth or reserves, wasn't he a striker? can't remember him playing for first team

Bobby Isaac in the back row, Keith Jones and Dublin in there too.

I think that was Derek Smethurst. Normally useless at these types of questions, but I had a trial at Chelsea the same day as he did so I kept a close eye on his career.

You are a fully qualified old git.

South African I believe.

Remember my old man wanting Bayern Munich to beat Leeds (which they did) in the 1975 European Cup Final !

That’s the first game I’ve heard of where seats got ripped up and used as missiles.

That was Leeds last hurrah; the end of that era of decent teams and success.

McCreadie battles for the ball with Allan Clarke, of Leeds, in the infamous battle of 1970

Eddie McCreadie battles for the ball

Sniffer Clarke if I'm not mistaken.

A slightly ungainly stance by Eddie. At first glance I thought that was his scrotum popping through his shorts but it's a face in the crowd.

(I don't normally make this kind of observation)

I think it's Peter Lorimer, if that's the cup replay which I'm sure it is then that's the second high foot challenge I'm aware of.

You could be right. I also agree it's the replay.

Not sure who we're playing.

Image result for eddie mccreadie and charlie cooke

Went to save the picture below and it said Forrest home 1971. Is that Martin O'Neil?

I thought that looked like a young Duncan McKenzie and checked his playing history on Wikipedia. That said he was on loan at Mansfield but the Forest team photo of 71 includes him.
