It's depressing that we have invested a fortune in these players (lukaku, KDB, Lucas etc), yet none will be playing for us next season. You just have to give them a chance, make mistakes and learn from it. We let Sinclair go because he was not good enough, couple of years later he is capable to nail down a starting spot in our team.

It looks like we just dont know what we're doing in terms of youth.

Doubt it. Would not play him instead of Mata or Sturridge.

Perhaps not but it would be nice to have that option. It might say put pressure on Sturridge to up his game. He has gone through a quieter spell of late and has been having a few issues with this slightly individual approach to attacking. And having Sinclair might open the option of having Studge play as the striker as we'd have a winger to play in his normal place. Just in case we were unable to play neither Torres or Drogba down the centre.

Like I promised,I have tried to put the interview on belgian tv here.

It was not simple, had to rip the video and after that I had to translate it and make subtitles .

The most difficult was to cut and paste the video and bring everything togheter.

So for now I only have done the intro ,the big work will come when I have time.

I know the timing is not 100 procent perfect but this was my first time.

He's a man of few words

Maybe it's the style of that segment? Sort of a lie detector Q&A format.

Interesting that he doesn't know his best position. That's a strange answer, no? Also, perhaps revealing that AVB hasn't spoken to him?

Belgian_SW6_Lover, super job, thank you!

From what I understand, he plays as a winger, CM or AMC. Belgium and Genk use him differently too. He hasn't really had a chance to grow into a specialist role yet because his managers exploit his utility.

Indeed, one minute full of questions ,answer with yes or no.This is the beginning of the mondaynight live footballshow.Every guest has to do it.

So If I find the time to cut and paste all the other moments he was in the show I will translate it (as good as possible, but correct without changing the facts). It is a show with a duration of 60 minutes.

(also notice, the question about Anton V. de borre) He is like the Tevez of Genk now :-) ,So one of the many problems the club have to deal with. (refering to the poor form of KVB on the moment)

Don't know if some of you still follow De Bruyne? The last few games he has been awesome. At the moment he is by far the best player in the Belgian league.

Although his natural position in the youth-team was the number 10 behind the lone striker, in the first team he has always played on the left side. Being two-footed (right is his natural "best foot") he can cut inside to his right foot or go outside to cross with his left foot.

Due to injuries in our central midfield, the last 5 he has played in the central midfield position, not the number 10 behind the striker, but as a central midfielder in a 4-4-2. It is in that position that he is showing everybody just how good he really is. He has been the heart and the engine of the team, not only in attack, but also in defence and tactically. He drops low to get the ball and keep the game flowing with his passing, but also infiltrates and is decisive on the other side of the pitch.

He's really keen to prove that his best position is in the centre of the pitch (number 8 or 10) and that he is good enough to be transfered to Chelsea. So he is really taking his responsibility in that position : he is the first to put pressure on the other team, really running his heart out, fighting for every ball. But it is in possession when he is really shining. His vision, passing and crossing is stunning. Always playing the ball forward, mixing the long and short passes. He is really racking up the assists in this position. When he has played, he has been directly involved in 70 or 80% of our goals (pre-assist, assist or scoring himself). The last few games he really has been a midfield general for us.

As character he is very self-critical and -demanding. He always wants to win, even in training or other things, he hates losing. Due to this characteristics, he hasn't been the easiest youth-player to coach in Genk of his former-team (Gent), but it's going to help him a lot in the Premier League.

Maybe a loan would suit him better next year, but if you loan him out to another PL-team, choose a team that plays football. Don't loan him out to a team like Stoke, but to Swansea, Fulham or Sunderland. But when he keeps playing like he does at the moment, maybe he can stay at Chelsea, your midfield really could use someone like De Bruyne at his best. Anyway, give him a chance and you'll really enjoy his football.

Thanks for that mate, sounds like hes doing well of late. I have a couple of Belgian journalists on my twitter and they seem to be impressed by the way hes stepped up the 2nd half of the season.

Good news, but we're supposedly loaning him out again next year. We've got quality young players who could step up into the first team: De Bruyne, McEachran, Bertrand, Piazon, etc... but it seems unlikely any of them will for at least another year.

He really has stepped up in the most important game of our season, a few weeks back against Gent. We had to win against the team 3rd in ranking and as a central midfielder he really stepped up with two assists and one goal. You kind view a recap of that game at :

http://stadion.vtm.be/artikel/racing-genk-%E2%80%93-aa-gent-21032012?teams=91538

You are right that he has stepped up in the 2nd half of the season. Last year he suffered from infectious mononucleosis and it has taken him a long time to get the disease really out of his system and to get back to his best physical condition. But now he has and he really is playing at a high level. If i have to compare his play in that central midfield position, i would say like Modric. He is able to play like a deep-lying playmaker, but still be decisive on the other end of the pitch. He is really smart in his positioning and passing.

Although he will need to step up his physical game in England, he's got less flaws then Lukaku did last year when he left for Chelsea. In Belgium some people had doubts about Lukaku's technical side of his game. The flaws that De Bruyne has (strength and heading) will be easier to improve and less important.

Maybe that's best for him to adapt to a stronger league, but Chelsea will have to make a smart choice in the team they send him to. He has to play, like Courtois did. He does have the advantage that he can play on the left, in central midfield or behind the striker.

I fear he will be wasted just like Lukaku is currently.

The difference here in my opinion is the 7 million pound price tag contra 20 million pound price tag. Also, the fact that KdB relies on his technical aspect of the game, rather than pure power, makes me think we got a gem in this one. If he turns out half as good as Scholes was then he's still way better than our central midfield these days.

On one hand am against loaning him out when we have few options on the bench to make a difference. However if he goes to a ball playing team where he will get full games e.g. Bolton, am all for that

We've not exactly had any luck with loans recently, Courtois aside. I'd be much more inclined to keep him and play him. Even if it means another season outside of Europe, I'd be far happier to end the season like that playing a team like:

Cech

Ivan Luiz Terry Bertrand

Romeu

McEachran De Bruyne

Sturridge Mata

Torres

Than a team with the usual suspects.

I hope Chelsea and the new Belgian boys are patient so the first team can actually enjoy their services in the future. We have very bright talents in our team who are coveted by most teams in Europe.

With Lampard "out", we need another "Xavi" who can pull the strings and dictate the tempo of the game. This fella is just as important as the "Mata" or "Iniesta", whose job is "just" to provide the through balls and threat for goal. If De Bruyne can work as that for us, then please let him play. I would be absolutely gutted if we bought that Spursey w**ker Modric for 40 million pound instead of *trying* to use Josh or KdB in that position.

I also think that he suits better for midfield since he's not lightning quick. But, what are we discussing? We'll loan him out to Swansea where he will sit on the bench. He'll come back, far worse than he initially was.

lukaku was 12m, and de bruyne was 8m, if lukaku becomes a regular for us he'l at an extra 6m, which if he makes it would be pitance. either way both good signings, and i have agree with zeta, i'm not for loaning him out in the hope he hits the ground running, because if he doesnt get as much game time as kakuta and mceachran has. At least we as a club can moniter his progression and game time if he spends next season here.

I also hate the loan out system.

I hope in the bottem of my haert that Courtois is coming back next year,so we can use him when Cech is injured.
