Most annoying/deplorable set of fans you know?

Featured Replies

Have to say I don't know that many Spuds in person being south of the river etc and the ones I do know are actually decent and level headed.

I encounter Arsenal fans far more often as my best mate is a Gooner as are most of my family. I find their fans the most fickle and melodramatic out there. Only a month ago calling for Wenger's head now seemingly convinced they are much better than us and the Spuds and are a shoe-in for 3rd.

I cannot stand Arsenal fans, they easily get my vote as being the most annoying set of fans with West Ham fans coming a close 2nd for their bitterness.

I don't care for United or Liverpool fans as much as I don't consider them genuine football fans.

I honestly think most football fans (present company excluded...) are w**kers. Even decent Chelsea fans outside this forum, when it comes to talking football, are as myopic and deluded as the rest. :D

There is one exception, that, over the years, has embraced myopic delusion from the top of management to the bottom of its knuckle-dragging fans. Davey Baby nailed it in one.

Most clubs fans are as annoying or the opposite at different times. It depends how they are doing most of the time and whether we are playing them/fighting for league positions.

Take last night for example - I had messages of congratulations from Arse fans. Nothing from spammers or spuds and abuse from scousers. I'll now spend the rest of the season locked in a world of banter with those same Arse fans,

Overall I suppose the scousers are the ones who continuely spout sh*t no matter what is going on. Even the spuds tend to disappear back under the rock they came from when the wheels come off.

Ask me the question next week and I'll probably give you a completely different answer.

Starting in the 1970's...

Liverpool Away in the 70's - they used to love the fact that the media had decided that they were the best fans in the land, but they used to slice up away fans (including women) with Stanley knives after the game. F*ckin' bunch of cowards then, f*ckin' bunch of cowards now.

Tottenham Biggest bunch of cowards I've ever come across. They were very brave if they found a single opposition fan on his own, but when we met them on even terms they always bottled it. Always!

Wolves Well known in the 70's for attacking non-hooligans and women, bunch of w*nkers. Again, when faced with a decent mob Wolves didn't want to know.

Sunderland/Middlesbrough/Sheffield United/Sheffield Wednesday

Specialised in throwing missiles of all kinds at away fans, including darts, bottles, lumps of concrete, bricks, ball-beariings and lumps of lead piping. Needless to say, when it came to a straight fight they all bottled it, year after year.

I'm not exposed to the English fans anymore (in person, and haven't been since I was 7), but from what I read, Liverpool fans are absolutely the worst.

Liverpool fans for me, but then I can't stand anything scouse, hate the city, the 'kin horrible accent, the attitude, The Liver Birds, Ken Dodd, Bread, the whole 'kin lot.

Have to say Arsenal are a set of big w**kers, the biggest gloaters in this league and always first to take the piss if we lose and I really cant stand them.

England fans. I can't stand the ceasless booing of so many of the players that have been selected to represent the countty, and not just the Chelsea players. And don't get me started on that stupid f**king band and the never ending playing of the great escape, even during comfortable 2 nil wins against former Soviet countries you've never heard of.

Can i just say that its great to have you back posting on the forum Bluebeard. Always enjoy your posts.

Seconded!

Liverpool all day long...all teams have their w*nker fans, but they seem to have a level of paranoia, delusion and bitterness unmatched by any other set of fans, anywhere...

A sense of entitlement, a selective memory when it comes to their past misdemeanours, an almost pravda like lack of free speech on their forum, have I missed anything ?

When their team was winning everything, they were the cockiest fans on the planet, everyone hated them, except for the media who always portrayed them as the cheeky, loveable rogues.

But now almost a quarter of a century later, with no Premisership crown and total dominance over them by their arch rivals united, they have turned into the saddest bunch of fans ever to walk the planet.

RAWK has plenty of examples of just how subhuman these fans are.

Going with a tie between Liverpool and Spurs.

It just depends on the day. Both are just unbearable.

Liverpool, all they do is talk about their 'kin history, because that's all they have because they don't make history now! United and spuds wouldn't be too far behind. Up here it would be Celtic and Rangers (sorry guys!) and Hearts would run it close aswell.

Every team has spurts where they're annoying, largely due to media hype boosting their egos.

Liverpool however are by far the most annoying, not helped by the number of Liverpool fans in the media.

Going on about history because they've no present, the constant "next season is our season", the genuine belief that playing for liverpool is somehow better than playing for more successful, bigger clubs ("Spirit of Shankly"), "we're victims" mentality used whenever the club gets critisised (see Suarez), the fact that they sing a song at the start of games and that they're one of the few clubs where police/stewards don't tell supporters to sit down somehow makes them "the world's best support" (despite Anfield being a graveyard and despite them having the highest percentage of empty seats of the bigger clubs).

I could do on and on about how much Liverpool fans annoy me.

Can't wait for the 80s.

Not a lot different from the 70's really.

Clubs with really pathetic fans would have to include: -

QPR - whenever we went to their sh*theap of a ground we took the whole place over. We never had to fight to take their home end, 'The Loft', as they were too scared to go in there when any mob was visiting.

Crystal Palace - mouthiest w*nkers in London, pathetic bunch of twats. I'm very happy to say that I was there when Palace took a right good hiding at Tooting & Mitcham in the FA Cup, and up the North Stand in 1976, though I must stress that I was only present in an observational capacity, honestly Officer! :139:

Everton - very similar to Liverpool, but without so much singing and banging on about 'istory. Also used to attack stragglers with Stanley knives, and in one cup game at Goodison in the early 70's they stabbed about eight Millwall fans, all in the back by all accounts, and were from then onwards known as 'Backstabbers'.

Burnley - I only include them here because in the mid-70's me and my mate somehow ended up in the home end (along the halfway line actually), while the rest of the Chelsea were behind the goal - I've got a slight feeling that it may have been due to excess alcohol sampled in the Ford Transit on the journey up. We got sussed out by the locals, but escaped unharmed thanks to my imitation northern accent which was largely thanks to Coronation Street - 'ay oop choock, ah'm oop 'ere t' watch t' Burnley en't I. Where's tha' whippet auld lad?'. Anybody taken in by my false accent must have been so thick...
