I'm sure this has been done to death in another thread but we seriously need to go out and replace Bosingwa, wether Ivanovic goes to right back full time or we bring someone else in, we cannot keep playing this liability!

I put him directly at fault for the goal and near goal conceded today; for the first one instead of punting the ball up the pitch he decided to lose it and make no effort at getting back to defend, then he watches as Carroll gets in a free header behind him!

This is not exactly the first time it has ever happened and he is completely suspect to say the least!

It's a shame it happened though, because defensively he has made massive improvements recently. It's no secret we need to strengthen that area but he has been better recently.

It's also a bit of a shame on such a glorious night of celebration to start a moan thread!

on a side note, slightly off topic and of less importance, what happened in that game we had on today?

Firstly, congrats on being able to use the internet. Secondly there was a large amount of sarcasm in that comment but we wont worry about that huh?

Sorry have to say it,but once again Bosingwa was a pain in the ass.

It is frustrating to see we played without any danger till his stupid fault and after that the WHOLE team had to work their ass up till the 95th minute.

I think Bossy did OK. He tried to clear the ball, but it crazily bounced off the Liverpool player (Henderson, Downing?), and straight to Carroll. I really don't blame Bossy for that freaky occurrence. On the second goal, with a freak like Carroll, we really should have someone great in the air man mark him, and we did not. Bossy is bad in the air, and he should not be blamed for not being able to mark Carroll in such circumstances. Who should have man-marked Carroll at the end? Ivan, perhaps.

On a day like this you don't care if every player played like Ralphie Milne and you won because of a four knee deflected fluke. You simply get very drunk and treat every player as if they could move mountains with a single bowel movement.

Spot on! So trivial to whine and moan about a performance of an individual on such a glorious day/night... Guess no matter what some people are always finding fault! If we want to talk about players not showing up, let's speak about Suarez and/or Gerrard who never even showed up...

I've been one of Bosingwa's biggest critics over the last couple of years, but I thought he had a fairly decent game today. If anyone was to blame for the scousers goal, it was Cech, he really should have kept that out.

F*ck all that though, we've won the cup yet again, and even better, we've beaten the scousers. I reckon it was a decent all round performance - hell, even Malouda did OK for the few minutes he was on the pitch!

We won, so I forgive him. He wouldnt have played if either Cahill or Luiz was available, so i cut him some slacks. Still, needs a near perfect game from him on the 19th, wish him the best.

I'd like to echo the thoughts of loz and BB.

He was brilliant in the Nou Camp and he is out of contract in the summer so right now this is a moot point.

I for one am shocked and appalled at this exciting new information.

I could forgive Bosingwa's defensive faults if he was actually a decent attacking threat. Apart from the occasional mazy dribble, he's got less end product than Kalou.

It is easy to second guess Cech, but I think he did the right thing. First, JT was all over Carroll, and Carroll still got his shot off. Second, Cech decided, correctly in my opinion, to go down and cover the low shot, which is the most likely shot. The fact that Carroll's shot hit the roof of the net, and even then Cech got a fingernail on it, shows the preciseness of Carroll's shot and that Cech was in the best possible position to cover the majority of shots that would likely come at him from Carroll's angle.

I thought that apart from that error when Liverpool scored he had a pretty good game. And from what I've heard he did a great job against Barcelona as well.

I think we need a better RB, but hats off to him for stepping up at times and also don't moan.

Have to say we've been lucky with players like that. We've had a few who hasn't played much (Ferreira) or who have wanted to leave (Crespo), but they've never whined in the papers or anything. Instead they do their best for the club.
