JMaher94
After watching the finale which was highly dominated by Spain against Italy, which included a goal/assist from Torres and a goal from Juan Mata who has the best goal/time played ratio in the whole competition! Also, thought John Terry was excellent for England! Who did you think was our best player at the Euros? Edited July 1, 2012 by JMaher94
Zeta
Terry for me. Torres got the golden boot, but he barely played. 2 goals against a shocking Irish side and 1 against 10 men of Italy when they were already beaten. So he didn't really do enough to be the best. Mata played for about 10 minutes. Malouda...well he's pants isn't he. Merieles..didn't actually see him play I don't think. At least I don't recall seeing him in the Portugal game I watched a bit of. Cole is the only other one who could be up there, but I don't think he played as well as Terry.

Meireles was quite solid in midfield to be quite honest, held his own very well against Spain and earlier in the tournament against Germany! Planet Drogba
I don't think Torres has much competition outside of John Terry. Despite not starting every game he still won the golden boot. Most of the other players on this list barely got to sniff the field.
Damnation
Torres shares the golden boot with Gomez?
JMaher94
Torres shares the golden boot with Gomez? Apparently not because Gomez played more than Torres.. it's what the commentators said.
2211
I think Torres wins it on his own because he got the 3 goals, plus an assist.

Katon
Right. For the crowd tied on three goals, the tiebreakers are first assists (Gomez and Torres both had one, the rest had none), and then time on the pitch (Torres played less than Gomez, since he only actually started against Ireland). So Torres wins the Golden Boot.
Ozztheboss
Terry for me, easily. Held Glen Johnson on a leash, Lescott by his side and was the only player who really performed against Italy. My man.
BlueAardvarkrule
JT for me, gave it the works even after a long season he was still getting in there and putting himself on the line for the team.
Gem
Terry, easily England's best player... Tied with Ash, no need for Chelaea bias either. Think all our boys, bar Malouda, did well with the opportunities/minutes they had.
Ozztheboss
Honorable mentions to Big Gangster Meireles as well. He could have had 3-4 assists against Czech if Ronaldo had been more efficient.
Mike Carefree
JOHN TERRY by far

Katon
. . . so he did, come to think of it. That entire game had completely disappeared from my memory, for reasons anyone who saw it can probably guess. He still played much less than Gomez.
The Moos
JT for sure. Had Torres played mroe games and in the way he's done when he's played then he would probably be number one.
Gem
Seeing that list it does surprise me how little representation we had at the Euro's - thought we'd have more than that for some reason.
Zeta
Well half our players got injured and the rest are Brazilian. Edited July 1, 2012 by Zeta Orionis
Brayerz
I would say Terry. Only one who was really worth his place in the England team, not that I give a sh*t. Nando did well when he played for spain, Meireles was solid.
Scott Harris
John Terry , the only England player that had the guts to make a decent pass.
ace
JT for me. Happy for Torres winning the Golden Boot, but JT had a better campaign.

stevo
JT all day long for me, many neutrals and others have said how good he was, 100 percent effort and passion. Thats what he gives and thats why we love having him.
Uno
For me i would have to say Merieles. He played really well against good teams. Terry was good also.
