Benitez: "Torres was trying very hard, he had a good chance, but the team has to create chances for him to score goals. The team has to help Fernando. All of us have to help Fernando."

He needs a Foundation - "The Buy a Nando A Goal Foundation", Berba had one he ended up top scorer in United

This is BRILLIANT,I'm just back on my chair...

He is finished as a Chelsea player, a disgrace, worse than Dave Mitchell, Alan Mayes, Teddy Maybank, Trevor Aylott, in fact I would take the passion of Joe Allon or Tommy Langley.

Not fit to wear Steve Finnieston's boots more of a Steve Livingstone or Colin West, hardly a Duncan Mckenzie or a Lee Frost, geez give me Mick Harford any day,

Ah leave it out Dave Mitchell was a leg end

Today Torres didn't have a shot on target…. He didn't have a shot on target vs West Brom…. Torres 2 games - 0 shots on target. Case Closed

Defended him for a while now, but I can't do it anymore after the last couple of weeks. He looks completely out of his dept, within a squad that's creating numerous chances. Anelka on a bad day would be able to produce more for us, than what Torres is doing. I think the sooner Roman realises he has to cut the loses with that transfer, the sooner Chelsea will be able to more forward as a club.

Don't bother pal, stay at home

It's because I'm one of the "Lucky" guys that got tickets for this game...And because it is west ham,but otherwise I was elsewhere that day

People seem to forget that we were playing Man City today. Kompany was all over him because Kompany is one of the best defenders in the world (in my opinion). Yes, Torres has been woeful recently and maybe shouldn't be at our club. But he fought hard today and looked like he wanted it more. Can't fault him much there. And what did Dzeko/Aguero/Tevez do today? They weren't anymore effective than Torres was.

Put most of the people on this forum up top for chelsea and they will work there absaloute bolox of and smile through every moment of it. Doesn't mean any of them our qualified to actually do the job though

This is another excuse that crops up from time to time. The problem with this kind of comparison is that while all strikers will have the occasional off day, Torres is equally ineffective on a regular basis. Falcoa didn't score for a couple of games. Then he's back hitting the back of the net. Torres scored the other week, and if recent form is anything to go by, he might not manage to score again for another few weeks.

Sorry to tell you this, but I'm afraid you're clutching at straws.

That argument might hold some weight if he had been performing well recently, but sadly it's just par for the course. Fighting hard isn't enough anymore. Wanting it isn't enough. Results are long overdue and it's obvious that they're not coming. Dzeko and Agüero also had poor matches, but you're talking about two strikers who have 11 goals between them. Dzeko is never effective when he starts and Agüero is still not 100%, but comparing them to Torres just doesn't work because their poor performances aren't their expected contributions. Tevez was on the pitch for what? 20 minutes? Nothing from 20 minutes is better than nothing from 90. If Tevez had started and played the full 90, it's extremely likely that he'd have a) scored and b) been the best player on the pitch. You might be able to say the same for Torres if we play Leicester.

Excuse #52...................................one for each week of the year, congrats.

I have no idea what your talking about.

Thing is I agree with what people say about him. I don't think he's good enough and he isn't the player he is, he's lost it. Apart from the past few weeks I think he's put a great deal of effort in his games, his work rate has been one of his strongest assets since joining Chelsea. Obviously goals is what people rate him by and he's not getting them.

Today though, he did play like he wanted it more. We played a much more defensive, careful game today. He didn't get a great deal of opportunities (in fact the whole team didn't). We had one shot in the first half and it was a free-kick. He was put up against one of the best defenders in the world and had to deal with alot of difficult/poor balls.

If you compare some of the chances strikers from other teams deal with week in week out that are on a plate for them then you can see why Torres doesn't goals. I admit you have to get yourself into these positions which he doesn't do most of the time but today, I can't see why people moan about his performance at all.

No hold up play no real challenging for the ball no getting involved in play with the three amigos beat one man all game...who is this guy? He has a touch like a 2 yr old, I'm sorry nando this just isn't working out anymore I think we need to take a break

Christ, Temberz.

For one moment forget about the service or the perceived lack of it. He cost £50 million big ones. He is supposed to be, (allegedly), world-class. When, oh when, is he going to make something for himself? When is he going to pick the ball up turn, sprint past a defender or two and get a shot away? When is he going to throw himself onto the end of a cross? When is he going to take a ball on his chest, out-muscle an opponent and send a screamer into the back of the net ala' Drogba against Tottenham/Everton/Liverpool? When?

Please. Stop with the excuses.

He's not. Because he's lost it. If you read my posts you can quite clearly see I agree with what people say about him. He isn't the same player he used to be, he doesn't possess that pace to run around defenders anymore. And he defiantly isn't a type of player like Drogba. Their's very few players in the world that possesses the same physical strength, power and skill that Drogba did. So theirs no chance he'll do that.

I'm not saying he'll return to his best. He won't. It irritates me when everyone slags him off after every performance. I admit, most performances are awful and he deserves all the criticism that comes his way. But today I didn't think he played badly at all. But I guess because he's been so poor recently its all his fault. Heck, it was probably his fault we drew 0-0 today. Yeah it was.

It's not his fault, but he was poor.

Put it this way: If Alan Shearer notices that you're doing something wrong (he pointed out that Torres doesn't even make runs anymore), you must be doing it VERY wrong.

His movement is terrible, and that's why he doesn't get chances. I'm sure he'd finish a decent amount of chances if he got them, as he's still got a decent shot on him, but he's the reason that he's not getting the chances.

First things first, just.

First he has to pout and fall over.
