Yet again Rafa with more jibberish...

“He’s not exactly the same player now because he was at maximum level at that time [at Liverpool],” said Benitez while preparing for tonight’s visit of Fulham. “But I think he can come back. How close? I don’t know. It depends on the rest of the team. I’m sure he can improve – but the team has to help him. The first thing is to give him some confidence and instructions as to how he can do things in a different way, and improve him a little bit physically."

I don't understand how Torres regaining form is going to "depend on the rest of the team." Last I knew form was about your individual skill and fitness. I promise you that even if they players don't say it, quotes like this aren't helping him make friends in a locker room that I feel still is partial towards RDM.

I think he want's the 3 behind him to carry him on their shoulders and score the goal then Nando can do his knee slide celebration to announce he is back.

:good2:

That's not fair at all. In fact it's bullsh*t. Don't know if you saw Sturridge play up top for half an hour against West Brom? You would have seen chance after chance created. That should tell you all you need to know, but hey, keep apologising for Torres if you must.

LOL...

I normally have a lot of time for your posts but I just don't think you can see clearly right now. TBH I DO understand and I do think Torres is finished, but he has not been the only problem recently we have failed to score from open play for a good few games consistently.

I know Torres is the anti-christ but I would like to assume most rational people cannot blame all these failures on him.

Did you see how many chances we created in that half an hour against West Brom, with Sturridge up top?

Please explain ..

I've also seen Sturrage bomb a lot of chances when on the pitch including comically tripping on the ball, mata and Hazard failing to find the back of the net. In fact most of our goals have come from our back line recently.

The problem is bigger than Torres not saying it isnt made by Torres, in fact I was ridiculed some time back for saying that exact thing. :/

I personally like Torres, but that doesn't mean I haven't been fed up with him...so just out of curiousity, If Torres comes out today and scores a hattrick (I don't see this happening), would everything still be his fault? He'd only be 3 goals off the league leader for the Golden Boot? Would we all suddenly jump for joy and love the man that I have seen berated and ridiculed for this entire campaign so far?

No no no no no no no. You said we were failing to create chances partly because of Mazacar. I'll ask for the third time ..

How come we created chances with Sturridge up top ?

actually this is what I said

To be fair. Recently Mazacar have been wasteful and there have been few chances for Torres, in fact I think Mata has been equally responsible for missing of late.

Have we been wasteful up the pitch - yes.

Has Mata missed some sitters - yes

Where is your argument, but I will answer you anyway even though your trying to put words in my mouth.

Every time i've seen sturridge up top we look worse and iv'e said it again and again on here. Oh and If he is getting more chances as you suggest why is he not putting them away? Seems like a flaw in your argument.

Few chances for Torres you said. Fact is, when Sturridge played up top for half an hour, as against Utd in the CO Cup, the chances started coming, and you still haven't explained it. I'm through asking.

So if he has had more chances why has he not scored?

How about we all agree that they both have been bad, and so has the rest of our team as of late.

Davey are you trying to say that although the three amigos create chances when Torres is playing with them he never makes the runs and when Sturridge went into his position even though miles from match fit and in only half an hour he did, although he couldn't put them away ?

If so it maybe that torres just needs some better service, Gerrard anyone? (purposely missed point)

So if he has had more chances why has he not scored?

He has scored. He has a far better ratio than Torres. Or are you saying, like you say with managers, there is absolutely no room for error, and even if you lack match sharpness, and you only get half an hour up top, you have to score or else you're for the chop?

At least you've acknowledged he's had chances. One day you might even realise why.

Sturridge is not as depended on service, he creates his own chances most of the time. Seeing as he can actually beat players - whether it's with his better first touch, pace or dribbling.

That's what Davey is obviously implying, if Torres was capable of creating one chance for himself per game without over relying on service - he would be a more dangerous player.

Sturridge has a better goal to minute ratio than Torres in the last 3 years, outscored Torres two previous years, has two goals in less than 400 minutes on the field this season. He doesn't get dispossessed as easily and is more threatening than Torres to opposition defences, he also doesn't hide away behind opposition defenders expecting the ball at his feet - he actually is making runs inside the box.

The fact that some people here feel that Torres is actually offering anything to the side that a Championship striker wouldn't is further proof how much perception plays apart of football. It's a crime we started this season with Torres as an automatic first choice striker; Sturridge without any minutes and no other striker in the squad. You can blame the midfield all you want but if Torres had scored a few of the fantastic chances that were provided to him earlier in the season - we could have taken Mata;Oscar; Hazard off earlier in games providing adequate rest to them so they are not ran into the ground by Christmas.

How about we all agree that they both have been bad, and so has the rest of our team as of late.

How about we agree that Sturridge has played 2 games from the start and has done "ok" considering he is obviously lacking match fitness, while Torres's performance trajectory has been a downward spiral since the Arsenal game.

Found a weird-as-hell picture of Torres wearing a Chelsea kit whilst cooking eggs...

Not photoshopped or anything...

Can't believe part of the lucrative deal to get Rata appointed included his own Maid, hopefully trying to see if you can make a good omelette out of bad Eggs.
