If that were true about the knee problem then our medical staff who overseen his transfer need shot...not that it is true of course.

It's easy to link them together since they both came from Liverpool.

Where there's goal.com and the Daily Fail, there's bollocks.

There is none so blind, than those that will not see.

According to Maka, a row with Terry lead to Jose's departure - no offense to our captain but I trust Maka more than him after all the crap that has happened since. So I would not be surprised all that much by anything at this point

I highly doubt a row with a player caused Jose to leave, he is tougher than that. Jose has probably had rows with plenty of players in the past. Do you really think a manager argues with a player then goes "that's it i'm leaving" ? you would have to be a pretty pathetic manager to do that. I remember this story going around when Jose left and the media was saying it was Terry's fault. I think it's all just a load of crap, they would do anything to make Terry look the bad guy. Mourinho left because of problems with Abramovic, it's as simple as that.

Was Terry not one of the main people to voice his support in getting Robbie in?

While Robbie is the manager who has given Torres more chances than anyother during his stint and only dropped him a few times...

I find this all to be rubbish and lazy jounalism which tbh we should all be used to after the past 10 years!

If the rumour of the knee is true, you can look on it that Rafa has immediately jumped to the defence of Torres and pretty much mocked our club doctors and scans that he must of had here and there, since being at the club.

Its also a parting shot at his former club Liverpool, accusing them of wrong-doing by selling a player knowing that he is not and most likely be, never proper fit.

Its a big mind game already less than 24hours in, welcome to the start of the 'Rafa Ride' Chelsea fans!

A parting shot? If true, Liverpool got 50 million large for a crock. I hardly think that's wrongdoing on their part. That's good business. If we were stupid enough to buy him that's our look-out.

Could be crap, but highly believable:

Benitez Spent 20 mins on phone to Roman just before it broke.Says Torres has degenerative knee problem hence loss of pace@sportsbreakfast

Iv seen alot of this story this morning. Supposedly didn't have a full medical before coming to us and had 2 operations on his knee at liverpool. My question though, if he has a knee problem for two years, why has he been playing so much?

you think but Sheva got through.

Can't be true as above Torres has hardly ever been injured with us in nearly 2 years if you had this condition you would be out time and time again.

Did he have a knee injury?

I just thought his pace had gone

I doubt the club are going to listen to JT as much as before, for a variety of reason he has damaged the clubs image. If he wasn't such a huge influence on the pitch he wouldnt have got the support he has over the years.

Not sure if it was his knee, but it was well know injuries had damaged his Milan career.

It might just be he has finally received some decent rehab. Knee issues are hard to fully recover from.

I know from watching Mols at Rangers but after his injury he had spells out with his knee, Torres has been fit (well in general terms) ever since he got here.

I'd also think Spain would leave him behing in the Euros if this was true.

I just think his form is gone and one of those players who peaked early and has a diminshing later career ala Owen.

Owen had a history of hamstring & knee problems (both are linked as the muscles attach at the side of the knee).

Good for you! I won't lose any sleep over someone on a message board questioning my support for the club I love!

I think you just base this assumption on the fact most of the debates we have had have been over torres! I can't remember debating another issue with you on this forum. I honestly don't know where you have found the assumption that I don't care about any other players or I only base my thoughts on the manager on how he treats torres. I made it clear yesterday that I was disgusted with the decision to sack Rdm but also that I have no problem with benitez and look forward to the near future with him in charge. I understand others frustration with the decision and I think this is what is causing you to attack other supporters.

By the way if torres was to be sold in january I won't be going anywhere. Can't get rid of me that easily!

Indeed, but I suspect the club you love is based on Merseyside.

I also notice Redhatter that despite you supposedly being disgusted at the sacking of RDM you haven't taken the time to contribute your heartfelt thanks to him in the "Thank You Robbie" thread.

Not suprising really. Probably been too busy looking through your Liverpoo picture albums for more Benitez & Torres photos for your next avatar.

Plenty of rats about just, watch your trouser legs mate.

I'm only trusting long term posters or donators atm.

:(

Just read the Daily Mail and Goal articles.

Much of it is certainly sensationalism but with the obvious player-power at work behind the scenes one has to stop and wonder...
