A lot in that article that makes sense, but if his knee was that f**ked surely playing him the amount of times we have would have showed some issues. I think issues in his own head are effecting his play.

Exactly. I'm sorry but I refuse to believe his knee is that f**ked up otherwise even roman wouldn't be stupid enough to have him as the only striker in our squad. Hasn't nando recently said he feels stronger than ever? I realise the injuries he has had in the past are obviously going to have some effect but not end his career.

Would a knee injury affect his explosive pace?

I would have thought that would be hamstrings or groin injuries which would affect pace?

You'd be surprised but a knee injury can affect a player the most. A friend of mine used to have incredible pace on the ball but he's lost most of it due to knee injuries. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing had happened with Torres.

He's lost a bit of pace, but he's not slow still. His problem is having the courage to put himself in goal scoring positions. All strikers need this, he has lost it. Needs to go

i had a ligament tear in my knee and for a good while after recovering i had a mental block, where i was afraid to run at full pace or kick the ball full power. even though the doctors told me i was healed (in spite of slight discomfort that apparently i just had to get used to because it wouldnt go away ever or get worse) that pain i felt when i got injured was always in the back of my mind

I had a knee injury and I couldn't run after that.

MInd you, I never run before that either.

how on earth did u get injured then?

Didn't Torres say in an interview earlier this season that he had a long conversation with Roman and that helped persuade him to stay ?

I wonder if the name "Rafa Benitez" came up ?

Anyone want a bet ?

I feel a mystic meg moment coming on...whats the betting if we get a penalty we see Torres sprinting to get the ball and take it...if he scores everything will be justified I suppose?

No it bloody well wouldn't, Torres needs to score 20 goals more at least this season, which is not going to happen.
