Would you rather us win the CL or PL this year

Featured Replies

CL is always the top prize

In terms of money and global branding the CL is by ar the greater prize.

I was more excited and proud of our CL win that any of the titles we have won.

Sir Alex, Pep and even Robbie have all said the same thing regarding the CL.

Become the first time in history to retain the Champions League or bring the Premier League trophy back to the Bridge?

If your gonna have it....then why not have it all....BOTH!!!

although another CL would be amazing

We could potentially retain our CL title if we buy a world class non-cup tied striker in January (and yes, I am implying Falcao) because it would help massively. We have all the creativity in the world but just nobody to finish.

Winning back to back CL's on home turf... Wow.

Buuuut winning the PL tops it for me. From a financial aspect it's probably the wrong one to choose but to win the league is my preferred choice.

Oh okay, win both if you're that picky.

Being realistic, we don't have the squad to win the league, not yet, maybe by January we will ?

Winning the CL is achievable, especially if we can reach the final, at Wembley, our second home.

But at the end of the day, any trophy will do me this season, only a plastic would be disappointed with that.

I'd go along with that,

If I could choose for the first time for me the CL is pushing it close...I always think the Premier is the one, proof over a season of consistently good performances and consistently better than your rivals has always been the benchmark for me but the fact that we hardly got the merit we deserve for winning last year, the fact that we would be proving a huge point to the whole of the footballing world by retaining the Trophy and the added Bonus of the final being in England has made this years CL a bit more special.

As Coco says, any Trophy this season would be great for me and I never expected too much from this transitional season until we started to show so much promise...that in itself is enough for me to get a lot of enjoyment out of the season Trophies or not.

A real bonus for me would be Silverware or not, a couple of good additions to the team a real effort from everyone in the squad and assurance that Robbie is in charge again next season.

Premier league.

It was the premier league last year

It was the premier league the year before that

Etc

I care about the premier league more than the Champions league though I wouldn't mind winning either again this year :)

For me

1st is always the domestic title

2nd Champioons league

3rd FA Cup

4th League Cup

The Premiership is the ultimate prize and is the true indicator of who the best team has been that particular season.

The CL is a great thing to win but is not always won by the best side and is certainly not always a true indicator of who the best team in Europe is.

Ordinarily PL hands down.

Only thing that would sway me this year is I think Barca and Real are both vulnerable leaving the CL wide open and nothing would make me prouder than seeing us win/retain the CL in London, a feat that has never been done especially after all our critics.

Wembley would be a wonderfull place to be that day wouldnt it

I would usually say the league as the league decides the #1 team over the course of a season. For this year only I'll say the CL as we have the chance to win two in a row and to do it at Wembley would be very special.

I would be happy with just the CWC this season. I don't expect us to win the title. Would be happy with 3rd. Don't expect us to retain CL. Would be happy with Quarter Final. Although I do expect us to win the CWC. Would be very disappointed if not as well as the league cup. Only us and Arsenal are the big teams left and we're better then them. No excuse.

would prefer the CL again. Put our names in history forever and it would increase our club stature by an enormous amount.

The CL for me this season, Chelsea back to back European Champions, has a nice ring about it.

Champons League is more realistic assuming the defence is tightened a bit, Manchester City and Manchester United are too strong over the course of 38 games at the moment.

I'd choose the Champions League anyway, half the work of breaking a historical record is done, why throw in the towel now?

We're never going to win the Prem but even if we were, we've done it 3 times since Roman arrived, including a back-to-back.

The CL final is at Wembley this term and we have the chance to be the first team to retain the trophy ..

How's that for history?

It also offers JT the chance of CL redemption and the chance to say a big "f**k you" to all his detractors.

I know which prize I'd rather win this term ..

Shame the King of Wembley won't be with us..

Retaining the UCL is the one for me though.
