If PSG came in with a bid of £15m-20m then it would be very tempting and I think the board would take it. More than doubled the money back. If we are going to sell him? It needs to be this summer as he only has 2 years left.

If we did, it would place alot of responsibility on Courtious shoulders.

Well Cech had a bad injury so could start on the bench because Courtois is sharp and has will be match fit from the get go.

Will be hard for Cech to get back in as Courtois is a top class keeper.

So chuffed he will be here next season!

Does Lukaku know something we don't?

"What I don’t want is to be loaned out.

"I am 21 and I have been loaned for the last two seasons. Thibaut Courtois was loaned for three seasons and will be without doubt the first-choice Chelsea goalkeeper."

Petr's value is (for me) totally irrelevent, he cost bugger all in todays terms, and owes us nothing after 10 yrs of great service. I say keep him on to see out his contract if he's happy with that, in fact if he's willing after that to be number 2 then give him an extension.

I want to keep both, and until Courtois has adapted, and settled into the prem, i'd be very happy with having them both here.

Maybe the great life Petr has made for himself and his family may have some bearing on wether he stays and fights for the jersey, stranger things have happened.

Cech has done it all by now. Unless he's worried about losing his spot in the national team ( why would he, who is the Cech No2 keeper?), I could see him staying and fight for the spot, and settles for 10-15 games a season. Having said that, wouldn't count out him keeping the top spot. Barca's late run crashed once Valdes was injured, we dropped points and games after Cech was injured last season. So it's not unreasonable to have 2 quality GKs, provided they are willing to fight for the spot.

If he was why did he go to sit on spurs bench when he left us?

After 3 seasons though, when Cech came in Cudicini was still the best keeper in the league at the time its just Cech was better. After 3 years sitting on the bench a keepers reflexes aren't gonna be the same are they? Not to mention he was older when he left too.

Dilemma aside, how great is it that we have two of the top three keepers in world football right now. What an amazing problem to have.

Courtois is the future! Thanks Petr for all he's done for us the last years, but I dare to say Courtois is even a better GK than Neuer for instance. Top class we have in our hands with  him.

I am most probably being hugely judgemental, but as the whole Courtois saga progressed I became more "pro-cech", largely because I didn't really appreciate Courtois' comments in the press which alluded to the fact that he held all the aces with regards to his position at chelsea - a bit too much in the way of grumblings of miscontent at the prospect of going back to CFC and almost an attitude of "i'll go where I want".

I'm glad Jose came out in the press and set the record straight saying that Courtois comes back no matter what, end of story, and it seems to have put Coutrois' gas at a proverbial peep so to speak. Haven't really heard much coming from him in recent weeks, which is good.

Not sure. Just get the feeling that the inflated opinions of self importance from camp-courtois didn't really show any respect to the club, or indeed to Cech who is a proven consistent world class keeper.

Total dilemma - Courtois for the future, perhaps Cech for now. I have seen it mentioned on this thread that the decision on first choice keeper will be made following the first clanger from either party - I am inclined to think that clanger is more likely to come from Courtois than from Cech. Courtois had a few howlers last season (the own goal against espanyol and the absolute stinker against zenit being two examples from last season)... but I guess we are indeed lucky to have two excellent keepers to choose from.

Just hope it doesnt end in tears.

You cannot compare a 21/22 year old courtois to a 28 year old Neuer. Right now, Neuer is the best keeper in the world, but Courtois, at such a young age, isn't far behind.

Small bit of gossip but Courtois has updated his Instagram and Twitter account bio to read:

"Official Twitter of Thibaut Courtois Goalkeeper of Chelsea FC and Belgian Red Devils"

So it looks like he's going to be at Chelsea this season.
