And yet we found two without trying very hard!

Which is why we should consider ourselves very lucky that we have had plenty of great years with a top keeper like cech and why we can have many more great years with a keeper like courtois. We would be foolish to let the kid go

For a big guy, Courtois gets down pretty well. I think there's a fine line between loyalty and play the best player. In this case, I would say Courtois deserves a go next season, Cech may decides to stay after all if he does;t fancy playing aboard. Monaco, please call us to discuss.

Tell me why this wouldnt happen. They cant leave because we have them both on a contract.

Because it will be unfair on both players, they both dont deserve to sit on the bench most of the season both too good for that. We cant keep them both happy so one will want to leave and i dont like keeping unhappy players it causes problems. Most of the time here at Chelsea when a player wants to leave we get rid and i like that attitude if you dont want to play for us anymore you can go!.

We did it with Robben, Gallas, L.Diarra, Anelka, Alex and Mata in recent years.

If i was getting paid more in a week than most people earn in 3 years they could tell me to sit where ever they liked.

Both would get games. We play enough games each season for them both to get a chance. It would also put pressure on who ever is starting to play at his best.

Im not saying it would work long term but for one season at least it would i think.

Unfortunately doesn't work like that. With elite athletes they want playing time. Players move to smaller clubs for less money and playing time all the time.

Chelsea's twitter chose a great pic to tweet this morning

And so they should, guy is a class act.

I love Cech. Absolute legend of a human that has won everything at CFC and has consistently been one of the worlds best in goal since donning the blue shirt.

Courtouis sounds like a bit of a douchebag and doesn't seem anywhere near as charismatic as our current number one. However , from a performance perspective it makes sense to bring him in. I'll come round to him.

In terms of being charismatic I don't think anyone in the History of CFC will beat Pete, the guy is a gentlemen.

you say that but at the players awards he cupped my balls in the bathroom. I said "hey big pete, i know you are use to holding big balls in your hands but this isnt the time or the place".

Uno, you're warped!

Not to be blunt but if Cech wants to leave cause he's got competition then that's a pretty poor attutidue to have (same appiles to Courtois tbh). He should be willing to stay and fight and I personally think he will, can't see him kicking up a fuss. Not that type of person imo.

This. This is exactly how I feel. It makes sense to bring him in now. Cech has won it all, been at the centre of our most successful period. But to ignore the fantastic talent that is Courtois waiting in the wings? Madness.

It's a gut-wrenching decision but Cech can't sit on our bench, he deserves to be playing football week in week-out. But it'll have to be at another club.

Agree with both sides on this one and will sit firmly on the fence; however I cant say i'm convinced that either will be happy to fight for their place. I think if we are going to let Petr go, then it will more likely than not be this summer so we can recoup a transfer fee on him, albeit marginal.

Levante have rejected a a bid of €6m + Leo Baptistao from Atletico Madrid for Keylor Navas.

Sounds like they're planning for a future without Courtois...

With Barcelona also having bought 2 keepers already it's hard to see where else Courtois could be playing next season other than us.

Real Madrid springs to mind but would he be willing to swap Atletico for Real after spending three seasons there?

Other than that you've got PSG or maybe one of the Italian clubs but it's hard to look at many clubs that wouldn't be a step down for him.

I'm starting to think he's definitely going to be involved at Chelsea next season.

Absolutely gonna be playing here next season, they club are starting to promote him a bit more on Facebook etc, sweetening him up a bit I think.

He might not be the one on the bench.

Indeed. But my guess is we are going to see Courtois in action first, see how he does. Then they'll both fight it out for the No 1 jersey until one of them makes a monumental f**k up

Yep, any big clangers and they are dropped, that's fair enough I say!

Will keep them both razor sharp.

I don't really care who is in the sticks next season, as long as they perform brilliantly.

"Nothing changes. He has two years left on his Chelsea contract and has an interest to continue there. Mourinho did not tell him that he would not count on him anymore," Kolar is quoted by Aktualne.

"We have not been given any signals that Petr would be made available [for transfer]. If that was the case, though, you have to realise that Petr is one of the world's top goalkeepers and has a certain salary. There are not many clubs who could afford to sign him.

"If he were to leave, we're discussing two or three clubs in the world. The situation has developed in a way, of course, but for now he is staying at Chelsea."

Kolar then revealed that he had been contacted by France's two premier clubs:

"Paris Saint-Germain have shown interest and we have also communicated with Monaco."

He also admits he would make contact with other clubs, if Chelsea told him to find Cech a new club.

"I would get in touch with Zubizarreta (Barcelona) and people at Real Madrid. These are clubs we would consider if Chelsea wanted to get rid of Petr. We would also consider Bayern but they have Neuer there. Then there are leagues Petr would not go to. For instance, the Serie A, because clubs in that league have problems."

But Kolar admits that Cech is more than happy with life in England.

"Petr isn't 20 any more. His family are satisfied living in London. Petr is satisfied at Chelsea and there is interest in his services even after his active football career, so that they would want him to continue in some position at the club."

Cech is currently recovering from shoulder surgery, but Kolar says as it stands he will be heading back to Chelsea ready for pre-season.

"Petr is successfully continuing his recovery from his [shoulder] injury and everything is going according to the plan. He will be ready for the start of the pre-season preparation,"
