March 17, 201313 yr Dare I say it, he's looking a bit like a young Cristiano with his blistering pace, brilliant skill and the ability to use such skill going at full speed, not to mention his fantastic shooting and passes. cristiano is a bit faster and better in the air, but hazard has him on vision and passing
March 17, 201313 yr cristiano is a bit faster and better in the air, but hazard has him on vision and passing I'd agree with you there, CR7 has him on pace, height and probably also ability from set pieces, however Hazard does look like more of a team player. Hazard is supposed to be a #10 right? He looks far more at home on the left wing where he has more space to run at his man and cut inside and take on a shot, in my opinion (ala Ronaldo).
March 17, 201313 yr One thing I did notice about Hazard today, at the beginning of the season he wouldn't even challenge for any headers, let alone win them. Now not only is he going for them, he's winning them too. I'm glad he's improved that part of his game.
March 17, 201313 yr Great player, we just need to give him time to adapt and develop. He had 3-4 great games in a row, pity the international break next. If he doesn't score 5 goals in the next 8, we will hear people regard him as a 'disappointment' again.
March 18, 201313 yr That's the big fear. If Hazard raises his game over the next few years I can see Barca and Real starting to poke their nose. It'll be difficult to keep them at bay. If he elevates his game along with Mata and Oscar plus an actual striker, we will be the next Madrid and Barca and he won't want to leave...
March 18, 201313 yr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEKmeenHjEY What a player. I've been very impressed with him from the start and think people who said he should've been better for the price we paid were being too harsh. A blip in form after a wonderful start was inevitable if you ask me, bearing in mind he is still young and it's his first season in the Premiership. He has been exceptional for us this season and I have no doubt whatsoever that he can go on to become one of the world's best. Edited March 18, 201313 yr by Amputechture
March 18, 201313 yr He's a much better player than Cristiano Ronaldo was at age 21- not that really means anything. In terms of past players I'd say he's probably more like Luis Figo; he tends to ghost past players rather than trick them and his ball control is out of this world.
March 18, 201313 yr His work rate seems to have improved to me, tracking back looks like it is beginning to come more naturally to him which is only improving his worth to the team. Possibly one of the best players running with the ball at his feet I have ever seen play for Chelsea.
March 18, 201313 yr Hazard is unbelievably dangerous with the ball at his feet. Every time he gets even the tiniest amount of space (and even sometimes when he doesn't) you know he will go for the jugular. His technique and pace are outrageous; he is like Joe Cole mixed with a Terminator.
March 18, 201313 yr Also I think he played his 50th game for the club yesterday? Pretty phenomenal for a 22-year-old in the March of his first season.
March 18, 201313 yr The skill to take on 3 west ham players reminds me of a certain Joe Cole against United http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ly1nUJgBffs
March 18, 201313 yr Really, Kagawa is his comparison? not only that, they feel they got a far better deal
March 18, 201313 yr Really, Kagawa is his comparison? Yep, and Downing is better than Mata. We missed out on all of the real talents.
March 21, 201313 yr hes just so fukking good. we have a future ballon d'or winner on our hands. he will be better than iniesta. we just need to find a way to keep him for a long time
March 21, 201313 yr hes just so fukking good. we have a future ballon d'or winner on our hands. he will be better than iniesta. we just need to find a way to keep him for a long time Consistently winning titles. Easier said than done but it's the best way. If he won the lot with us he might move for the challenge like Ronaldo did... but then we would have won everything so I'd still be happy.
March 21, 201313 yr he will be better than iniesta. I don't think you can compare the two players. They're too different.
March 21, 201313 yr I don't think you can compare the two players. They're too different. i havent seen it before, but not too long ago ive realized theyre quite similar they play in the same position and have the same strengths and weaknesses Edited March 21, 201313 yr by Lane
March 22, 201313 yr i havent seen it before, but not too long ago ive realized theyre quite similar they play in the same position and have the same strengths and weaknesses I completely disagree with this. Hazard is a far more direct player when in possession of the ball and is more likely to unlock a defence with his speed and dribbling. Iniesta's game is miles more suited to passing. He has an awesome range of passing which is how he breaks down defences.

March 22, 201313 yr I hear you, there are similarities... however I would compare Iniesta to Frank than Eden... (and as an aside, ignore the cr*p that comes out in the media from Xavi and Iniesta over Scholes a few months back, they know who the best English midfielder they have played against is) Joe Cole is a good comparison however you could argue Eden is somewhere in between, still it is a nice problem to have who to compare him to ?? Great little player let's hope we can keep him a good few years.
